I'm going to DLR tomorrow and am planning to see the EP. How far ahead do you recommend getting seats for this? I don't care if we're right up front but would like a decent viewing area - any areas that you recommend seeing it from? I've never seen any of the parades at DCA so I'm not too familiar with the parade route.
Thanks!

we made reservations to th wine country tratoria so we could sit and eat and watch the parade. I was told its a good spot to see the electrical parade

yeah... I've heard of people doing that but it's a little late for us for dinner. I have 2 girls (7 and 4) who are used to eating around 6pm.

We like to sit across from where the entrance for Golden Dreams used to be, but I do not know if you can still sit there with all the construction going on. I also think I remember sitting on some benches facing P.T. Flea's (the little souvenir spot in the Farmer's Market area.

I'm so excited to see DLR has the Electrical Parade. It's my favorite of all Disney parades I've seen. I hope it's still there next July. :woohoo:

Thanks for the tip. I'll have to look into this further, when our trip gets closer.

It always seems to us that the Sunshine Plaza fills up with people first. But you can grab a spot down by the Pier area (across from the Zephyr or near Golden Dreams) much easier and as early as 20 minutes before the parade starts. The parade starts down there too, so you can have an easier escape out of the park by going through the Redwood Creek/GRR/Condor Flats areas.

Thanks everyone... I think we'll get some dessert and then try to get a spot by the pier. I don't wanna have to wait too long cuz I'll be by myself with my 2 girls and my little one especially will start getting antsy! Usually I have my husband or sister with me so when we wait for parades and such one of us will wait while the other takes the girls on a couple rides ( I know some people get annoyed with saving spots but you can't expect a 4 year old to wait over an hour for something when there are so many fun things to do around them! And besides, we're a small party not like I'm saving a spot for 10 adults or something!) So this will be my first time taking them alone and I'm actually looking forward to having some girl time!!

We just went last week to see the parade and the area across from where Golden Dreams used to be (the SF area) is blocked off with a wall. In fact, it looked like there was a nice chunk of the parade route where no one could go to watch it because of the walls. We thought it was funny to see the characters waving to the wall as they did their routine in front of us. :rotfl:

We sat right next to the SF area (where Golden Dreams used to be) with our back to the path that leads to the Grizzly Peak area. We waited an hour ahead of time but we probably still could have gotten front row seats about 45 minutes ahead of time and there was plenty of room behind us for people who didn't want to wait as long. There were probably about 3-4 rows of people in that particular spot. Then when the last float comes you turn around and go out that way to get to the entrance ahead of everyone in the sunshine plaza who is still watching the parade.

What time does the parade start in case I wanted to make reservations at Wine Country? When you request your PS can you just tell them that you want to have a view of the parade? Thanks!

The parade starts at 8:45. I don't know about asking for a parade view.

Disney dining gave us a table out side, next to the wall to watch the parade. She was so nice to me on the phone. I told her I wanted to see the parade, she said she would give me the reservation closest to the time . Our time is 7:40. time enough to eat and enjoy desert then watch the parade.
