El Pirata Y El Perico Open????

In Magic Kingdom, does anyone know if this counter service place will be open (across the way from P. of the Caribbean)? I know it is openly seasonly and need to know when in May it will be open?

According to the CM last time we were there (early April) it'll only be open at peak times (4th of July, Christmas, Easter, etc), so it may not be open in May at all.

I don't always trust that information....we've been there during peak times and it wasn't open. We've also been during non-peak times and it WAS open. They seem to be incredibly random with it. It's disappointing because this is mine & my DH's favorite counter service.

Sadly this has never been open while I was there (Early May). The menu looks so good but I've never had a chance to eat there.

Here's hoping its open this may.

Thanks everyone for your imput! I have to agree that the schedule is quite sparatic. I've gone in peak w/ it closed and non-peak and its open but mostly lately it's closed when I go.
I really like the food here and miss it! It's refreshing to have say a nice taco salad or mexican type food in the midst of hamburgers and hot dogs. But one can only dream and I'll pray for it to be open when I go in two weeks.

In all the years I have been going to the MK I have only seen this restaurant open once and have been able to eat here once and that was last May. (Week of May 5th I was there).
I have been to the World at least one trip in each calender month over the past 30years.
If it is open get in, the food is great and last year it was not very crowded when I dined there.

The only time its ever been open when I've been there is when we were at MK over Christmas.

They were running a test buffet in there when I went. Probably due to the overwhelming bookings that week on the free plan. But we'd already had all our ressies. I think they had a KC strip, bbq, and stuff on the buffet. It looked good. But we already had all our ressies so we didn't go in. It wasn't all that full. I'd like to see them do something with it. Come to think of it, I'd like to see them do something with all of adventureland. Really give that section of the park a combover.

We just got back and it was over Spring BReak (Peak season) and it was not open.

I just wish they would keep this place open! We always made a point to eat here, decent food and we even like the atmosphere of the seating area. Too bad!

We were just at the MK yesterday, and it was not open. (Did go to Tony's for lunch, yuck)

I wish they'd bring back the "test" buffet, but I'm afraid it was just a one time thing - it's too bad, the menu here doesn't do anything for me at all.
