Did anybody read the (somewhat amusing) Newsweek interview with Mike Eisner about life after Disney, his friendship with Ovitz, and the girl that made him get interested in show business.

The Barbara Eberhart story (wrote a play for her to star in....) is a classic..

:)

Yup. There's another thread on the Board which is discussing it, wherein it appears some posters are trying to project how badly the author of the article made Eisner look in the article into some distorted support for Roy Disney. :confused3 Say what you will about Eisner, but he did lead the company to success, paved the way for a strong successor in Iger, and was far far better than what would have been if Roy Disney got his way.

Want to start it on two threads Bicker?

There's nothing to "start". It's history. It's already played out.

So I thought, but instead of just referring dwbakerjr to the other thread you had to bring up:

I'm sorry if that's a sore spot for you.

Where's the other thread? I'd like to take a look...

Not a sore spot. You are entitled to your opinion. I just didn't think you needed to bring it up again the way you did instead of just posting the link to the other thread

if all we ever did was refer posters to previous threads, there would be very few threads on the other boards. bicker, you didnt do anything wrong. how many threads are on fastpass, soarin, which transportation co, dme...it is ok to respond to threads rather than just refer them. if you go to other boards, there are very few new ideas out there. but people are looking for info. the easiest way possible.

I think Eisner was very successful in the beginning. But his petty jelousies, his inability to cede any power at all really contributed to his undoing. Iger probably wouldn't have moved in and up if it wasn't for the scrutiny that Roy Disney brought to the table. Eisner would have been happy to sit in the train that he rode up the hill and ride it all of the way down and been content to not see it coming.
