Eiffel Tower....tickets question

Do you think I should purchase the tickets online ahead of time.....?

We will get there at about 7:30 pm on a Thursday night and want to go to the top.


Oh DRATS....I ordered the tickets only to the second floor. I have gone back to see what I did wrong and cannot even find the option to prepurchase to the top!!

Do you think I will be able to upgrade at the tower?

If yes the option to the second or third floor is up left, you have to enlight the one you want and it changes to orange.

I have checked the Faqs but it does not say anything about changing tickets when there , i suggest you email them

I emailed them last night and have already received an answer:

Dear Sir, You intend to visit the Eiffel Tower and we look forward to welcoming you. We inform you that you don't need to modify your tickets to reach the summit of the Tower. Indeed, you have the possibility, once you are on the second floor, to purchase additional tickets to go to the third floor. Remaining at your disposal for further information, Best regards,

Great customer service but still isnt enabling me to decide if I should just waste the original price and repurchase online for the correct ticket......I have read many reviews stating the lines for those tickets are horribly long and also that they sometimes close the Summit due to weather..... What to do, what to do....Im sure it will work out but love having set plans lol!!

I dont think the line for tickets on the 2nd floor is that long.Most people have decided before they go up that they want to go to the top so buy the tickets there right to the top. Its the lines to buy tickets at the bottom that are horrendous.
I would keep the ones you have and decide on the day if you want to go up further

We were at the Eiffel Tower last Thursday and there is a ticket window on the 2nd floor to purchase tickets to the top (5 euro). The line wasn't very long, but the window wasn't always open. It seemed to open for a bit, then close, then re-open, but we couldn't really figure out a pattern.

Don't worry about it. There is a desk on the 2nd floor that sells tickets to the top. The line for that shouldn't be very long, as it's just those who've changed their mind (or bought the wrong tickets). Everyone else bought them when they waited in the first line on the ground.
