Okay.. Well - get back to me the week of Christmas, okay? :teeth:

As for the fruitcake? NO WAY!!!! My DH would have loved it though.. I could never understand why he liked it (he also liked mincemeat pie - yuck!) because as a rule he was a very "plain" meat and potatoes kind of guy and didn't go for anything fancy or odd..

Will do, and I love love love fruit cake. Out of my immediate family only my mother an uncle and I like fruit cake. I can eat a small piece of mince meat and I love pecan pie too. (see third tag :) )

I wouldn't try egg nog for the longest time because...well...I thought it tasted like eggs.

Then my roommate (many years ago) made me try it...said it tasted like a vanilla milkshake.

Which it did...so...why do they call it Egg Nog?

I like it and all...but it so filling/fattening I can't buy it! hehehehe
OMG too funny. I could have written this! I've never tried it b/c of being called "Egg" Nog. I hate eggs! Maybe this year I'll finally grow up (I'm 41 lol) and try it!

I really like the Land Of Lakes eggnog. Sometimes the market has it and sometimes they don't. In a pinch, I buy the store brand, but it's not as good! Don't forget to grate some fresh nutmeg over the top! My FIL puts some Jack Daniels in it too, and servies it over ice! ;)

How much do you pay for it? It's like 4$ for a half gallon
---------------------------

Yup - it's close to that - unless I catch a sale - but it's one of the few "treats" I allow myself in life.. Really! I rarely EVER buy anything for myself - not even new clothes or coats or anything else from year to year until they actually need to be replaced, so I figure I can "splurge" on this one little item at Christmas time.. :teeth:

Oh - and the other "luxury" I allow myself in life? During the winter I will NOT pump gas.. I don't care what it costs a gallon, I will find that one gas station out there that still pumps the gas for their customers.. :rotfl:

Did anyone see Martha Stewart on the Today Show this morning or was it yesterday? She was making Egg Nog with Matt and Katie and it had three different types of liquors: rum, bourbon, and cognac! :faint:
