Any ideas on how to save an egg from a drop of 2 meters using only 3 sheets of paper? Nothing but the paper. Thanks!

No tape??? Just making sure before I give my suggestion

My daughter had to do this project for physics. I definitely suggest googling for info. I recall that my daughters group used part of one sheet to make a cone and the egg was in that. They also shredded some paper to help cushion. They received bonus points if they used less than 3 sheets. It was dropped from the top of the bleachers. Since they have stadium style bleachers (elevated from the ground) it was quite high. I'll ask her for more info.

Isn't the point of the project to come up with your *own* ideas of how to make it work, based on what you have learned in class, instead of just asking a random bunch of people on the web to do your work for you?

Yes Mom. :rotfl2: Sorry, I'm only kidding.

:rotfl: I know, I know. I'm a teacher and a mom; I can't help myself, lol. As a school librarian, I teach research skills, and I have my students do all research in class. One reason is that they are forced to do it on their own that way, with my guidance. No Wikipedia (they're in elementary school), no "just Google it," no projects done by mom and dad. Just good, solid research by the students.

i think someone wants that + by that A! :P

lots and lots of cones... thats what i think!

I suggest researching therefore learning and not simply asking for the answer....

Can you poke holes on either side of the egg and blow the yolk out or must it remain intact?

If it's like the project my boys did years ago (both in their 20's now) you cannot alter the egg-no cooking, emptying the shell, etc. They could use more than 3 sheets of paper though.

Make it look like the boxes light bulbs come in, were it's suspended in the middle. Cut tabs to put into slits to hold the paper together.

Have been. This is my last resort. Thanks for all the help

If this is your last resort, I think you need some work on your research skills. All you need to do is look it up using a search engine like google.

Is this your project? Your kid's project? It's not like this is the first time it has ever been assigned.
