Effect of RSR on TSMM lines?

With RSR now being the big ride that people rush to at park open, I am curious what effect it has on TSMM lines at open. As recently as my June trip I was still seeing 50 minute waits within 10 minutes of the ride opening and just skipping it, but on the upcoming trip I know my GF is going to want to ride it at some point. Is RSR drawing those crowds away now?

We took one look at the FP line for RSR ten minutes after the park opened and headed to TSMM on the 27th and 28th of July. The first day a twenty minute line had formed. The second day it was down, but we were far up enough in line so that when it did get going, we only waited ten minutes.

I thought the lines would be worse with the different early entry stuff going on, but if you hit rope drop, I would imagine you would have a minimal wait. The only way I'll ever see rope drop is if a new family adopts me. You can't motivate my four guys to hustle in the morning.

Later in the day, lines are still as long as ever.

You should go to the park early, so you can enjoy rope drop, and meet your family whenever they get there...

I read reports in June that TSMM was VERY slow first thing AM. In fact, a few people reported riding twice without having to even exit the ride. However, that seems to have changed now that Disney has granted EE for on-site guests 7 days per week.

With the EE change, it seems many are staying in CL for the first hour, then heading to TSMM just before opening. So unfortunately, that rope drop advantage is slowly disappearing.

I'll be at CA Tuesday and will post how it goes for us.

DH and my girls used their early admission to ride, while I was waiting for the RSR fastpass. (Per my instructions) they started in carsland (Luigi's and Mater), then headed over to TSMM. They were able to walk right on. After meeting up around 8:30, we hopped on Soaring, which only had a 10 minute wait at the time.

We were able to ride Toy Story 3 times in a row with virtually no wait. Most people where in CarsLand, even though it was announced that RSR wouldn't open until 10am.

Since Cars Land has opened Toy Story's (and Screamin's for that matter too) line builds slower. The first 15 min of opening should see a less than 5 min wait. It does not reach its normal 40-50 min line until at least 9AM, so if you go during that first hour you should be looking at a relatively short wait.

We were there last weekend and was able to ride story 4 times in a row. 2 without getting off during EE But it was still only a five minute wait after rope drop. It usually starts to get busy around 10
