Let me start by saying that there are only two mice in the world that I like, their names start with M, they wear red clothes, and they are the reason I found the DIS.

Second, I will truthfully state that (1) the only things I want in my house that are alive are people, DS's fish, and plants, and (2) I am a screamer. These facts, my firends, are why I am eternally grateful that it was my DH who got up first this morning,

went to the kitchen,

turned on the light,

and saw a mouse.

IN THE SINK!!!!! :scared1:

It was trapped in there and couldn't climb up the sides to get out.

All I can say is that if it had been me downstairs first, then not only would my DH, DS, and DD been roused from slumber by the screams of a banshee, but without a doubt the neighbors on either side of me as well.

So, not only am I creeped out by the thought that a mouse was actually in my house, but it was on my countertop. :scared: Needless to say, the kitchen got a good scrubdown first thing this morning.

(To those wondering the little beast's fate, DH scooped it up with a cup and let it out the back door before I even knew it had happened. DH is wonderful!)

It was probably a field mouse, trying to get in out of the cold. He was probably more scared of you than you were of him ;) :earseek:

For every mouse you see, there 20 others you haven't seen!

:duck:

LOL, luckily, he never got the chance to be scared of me...he'd have been traumatized (or gone deaf)!

I would have been clinging to the ceiling.:scared1: I would never be able to look at the sink the same way again.:sad2:

I hate mice. When my Ex and I were married, we lived wiht him mom for awhile. Well he found a nest of baby mice and though it would be funny to throw them on me. I've been terrified of them ever since.
With all the construction going on around us, we are getting mice al the time this winter. We're catiching on average 1 a week either in a trap, or the cats catch one.

Oh the stories I could tell. I still have food issues thanks to him too. i hate ketchup. We were dirt poor. If he ate all his food and wanted mine, he would wait till I wasn't watching and poor ketchup all over it.

We live in the City so if it's a mouse we will take that over it's bigger cousins that run the streets and alleys.

DDs cat took her a present the other day. It's the second on that she beheaded before bringing it to DDs room.Poor little mouse with no head.

We've had a problem this winter too. Yuck, Yuck, Yuck. The last one I seen run across the living room- I literally jumped onto the couch standing because I was freaked. Dh thought it was funny that I had did what he had only seen on cartoons.

we have had them too, we actually found their food stash in the attic , which included a bunch of calcium chews, one dropping on my LV backpack and it was WAR.

I can sympathize with you. I have a completely irrational fear of rodents to the point that I have left the house and checked into a hotel at just the suspicion that there has been one in the house.

I am the mouse catcher in our house. DH would kill them and I won't let him. They would only get in the bread drawer in the kitchen so I would put a hav-a-heart trap in there and then take them for a ride in the morning. We've had Mickey, Minnie, Mortimer, Ferdy, Morty, Jerry, ..... Of course our 3 cats are afraid of the mice

Lately we haven't had any turning up. Maybe they got the message.

I have heard that peppermint oil is a deterent (also bobcat urine - they sell it in bottles at garden shops).

I hate them and hope I don't get any in my house. Hopefully they'll smell the cat and go in the opposite direction. My DM had one about 3 weeks ago and luckily she got it in about 2 days.

A couple of years ago we had a mouse. They tore down a house down the street from me. My DS was maybe 2 or 3 - sometimes he would sit in the family room and have a snack or eat McD's fries, then he would get up and play. I noticed he was eating everything the time I went to clean up.

One day I was cleaning and pulled the couch away from the wall - and screamed! There was a stash of food - totally freaked me out!

We got a trap that goes up against the wall and put a "fry" in the trap. My DH had to go on a business trip - I am upstairs in my bedroom watching TV and keep hearing this noise downstairs - the mouse was in the trap! I couldn't pick up the trap - I am trying to think of how to get this trap with the mouse in it outside. I get a shovel scoup it up and put it outside until DH came home. He takes it to a field and lets it out.

That was the one & only time we had a mouse.

I've had problems w/ mice off and on too. They are just nasty. My cat thinks they are toys. He just chases them and then lets go. I usually try to grab him when he catches one and pray he doesn't let it go on top of me before I throw him out the door with the mouse. Needless to say it's a quick trip to the back door.
