How does EE compare to Thunder Mountain in terms of quesiness? My wife is not a big rollercoaster fan but like Big Thunder Mountain. Was wondering how much crazier is EE or is it very much the same.

Thanks

It is more intense. . . much higher, bigger drops, and at one point goes backward pretty fast and it is easy to lose your perspective since that part is in the dark. There are no inversions, though. My parents will ride BTMRR over and over, we did it in February, sometimes without even getting off. However, twice in a row on EE was PLENTY for both of them. DH and I were still having fun, but my parents were done. It is a great ride, I do recommend it!! My parents won't do RnR or the big Universal coasters, but did enjoy EE in small doses.

I described EE as being faster, but smoother than BTMRR. I told my parents they shouldn't have any problems on it. (My dad has a tricky back that is sometimes hurt by the jerky side-to-side motion of BTMRR.)

My mom had my dad call me from the park on his cell phone shortly after they rode EE. The message was to tell me she was never going to speak to me again.

Apparently, she thought there was a BIG difference between the two.

It's much more intense. There are 2 aspects to the ride that make the quasey factor higher:

1.It goes backwards - And when it does, it's fast. It's very easy to lose your breath during that part. And then, your next drop is about 80 feet.

2.It doesn't lose speed as it goes up the hills, and it does so in a circular motion. I went on it about 7 times in a row, and after the 5th or 6th, I knew I was pushing it.

On our last trip to AK, I wanted my DM to ride EE with my DS and DD. My DM doesnt do rollercoasters but we told her it was like BTMR and when she got off she was pretty mad at us. She said she was fine until it went backwards and then it was all downhill from there.

Personally, I like EE better, because even though it went backward, it was so much smoother than BTM. I hate being jerked around, feels like whiplash. We did EE twice in a row when it wasn't so crowded, and no problems. I couldn't bring myself to ride Space Mt. this visit because I felt so bad the last time.

Similar, but EE is a smoother ride and has a higher quiessy factor to it. Someone posted once WHY it is that it makes you a bit more quiessy.

I love them both! I want to get my DD (LOVES BTMRR) on it but the Yeti scares her a bit too much.

In June we rode EE 3x in a row during EMH and I was a bit green after the 3rd time. I sat out for the 4th ride. It broke down while they were in line so it all worked out!

I recommend that she doesn't ride EE. I don't like roller coasters and I won't go on EE, but I'm gonna try BTMRR.

Similar quease factor, in my book. EE makes up for the bigger drops and backwardness by being a less jerky ride. I am easily queased, but since Antivert went OTC I use that now and neither bothers me.
