My DD10 is dying to go on these rides. She is a coaster buff and there is no coaster she will not ride (unless she's too short:rolleyes: ). I am a moderate coaster buff. I will ride everything at DL (not counting CA). I am from So Ca and we went to 6 flags Magic Mountain monthly. I loved Ninja but HATED Viper (I am probably dating myself). I am wondering if these rides will be too much for me to handle. My DD7 is insisting on going on them as well but she is more on the moderate side than the daredevil side.
Any opinions on these 3?

EE and RnR are awesome. Both are very smooth rides and I enjoyed them very much even though I am not a coaster fan. EE does go backward at one point which bothers some people. TofT is not a coaster at all. It is a ride that drops you and then brings you back up to drop you again (and again). I don't like TofT because my stomach seems to go up into my throat everytime that thing drops.

My three-year old and five-year old rode ToT and plan on riding EE and RnR this year. I'm sure you'll be fine.

CAUTION -- Slight Spoiler below ....

EE is very smooth. There are no inversions, corkscrews, etc. As Karliebug mentioned, it does include a section that goes backwards, and that section includes going UP an incline at a high speed, which is a bit of a different sensation than I have felt on other coasters. Not bad -- not nauseous -- just very fun. I do not believe that you have to be a daredevil to ride EE. It is loads of fun.

RnR does include some inversions -- I believe 2 loops and a corkscrew, but I still do not think that it is as intense as most others that include inversions. It is not a tall coaster -- no really big drops. It has an exciting take-off, and is high-speed with the inversions.

My husband and I like ToT -- our 21-yr-old non-daredevil son will not ride it. I believe that the drops are pretty much the same sensation as going down a big hill on a coaster. I call it more of a "Wheeeee!!!" ride than an "Oh Nooooooo!" ride.

As on any ride -- some people like them, some people don't. You won't know until you try it once. I will recommend that you do NOT ride them right after you have eaten a big meal. And I'll recommend that you do it when you're already feeling good ---- i.e., not when you have a headache, queasy stomach, etc. Also, if your daughters meet the height requirement, then you do not have to ride with them. I've seen many pre-teens riding while Mom or Dad waits at the exit.

Have fun!

Thanks for the great replies. My DD7 does meet the height requirnment for RnR but will NOT go on unless I go to. Not her sister ...not her dad...ME. I always end up going on rides. I remember being to scared to go on some ride at Magic Mountain and regretting not trying it, on the way home. I guess I will give it a shot...if I don't like it I don't have to go back on.
Oh and JanB..thanks for the spoilers!!

I'm not a huge coaster person, but I did do the RnR and thought it was awesome!!! I had to pick and choose which one to go on because of a neck issue, and that one looked to have the best neck support. The beginning of it is the biggest OMG moment...and then it was like kicking back and going "COOL!", before I knew it, it was over. :( It's a smooth ride, and you just gotta love the music!

Although Ninja and Viper at Magic Mountain are not the most extreme rides at Magic Mountain when you compare them to their newer rides they are still a bit more intense than any of these WDW rides.Disney makes rides that most kids and adults can ride together, that's why when you go to Magic Mountain or a Cedar Point the majority of the crowd ranges from 14-35 as compared to Disney which gets basically everyone.Out of the 3 rides I would say RnRC is the most extreme with the 0-60 mph launch in 3 seconds and since it has loops,TOT isn't really too bad but people could still get creeped out and Everest except for the backwards part is just a bit more intense than Big Thunder mountain.

I am not a big coaster fan, but I LOVE both RnR and EE! They both provide just enough intensity to be thrillingly fun, but not scary, if that makes any sense.

EE isn't really scary at all. It's about one step up in intensity from BTMRR. But it sure is fun!

RnR is more intense because of the launch (which is thrilling), and there's 3 inversions in it, but because you're in the dark, and with the music playing, well, it's just plain FUN!!!:)

Thanks for making me feel so old :rotfl2: . I was scared to death on Viper...there is no way I want to try the new rides now.

I am not a brave coaster fan, but love RnR and EE! I "plan" to try ToT next June, so thank you JanB for describing it as a "wheeeee" ride!! I can do one of those! I will be thinking of that while waiting in line! Have fun!:goodvibes

DDs are 10 & 12 now and have been doing RnR and ToT for at least two years, EE since right when it opened, they love them all. I love the concept of RnR and am a die hard Aerosmith fan, but truthfully, RnR gives me a head ache every time. DH says it's because I stiffen up, I do the same thing on BTM at MK.
