Thanks for the reply and your input. Just a few more questions Hydroguy. We will do the EE rides in the order you recommended. Our twins do want to do Toontown while our 10 year old wants to do SM, Splash, Big Thunder.
Do you suggest that we do those thrill rides next (or grab a fast pass for one) right after EE or should we head immediately to TT. I know that I could send my dh to get fast passes, but last year we tried that and unfortunately, my dh got "lost" and we wasted alot of time waiting for him (long story, don't ask how, but I'd rather not send him off on his own.
We will also be at DL on Friday for the full day. Your suggestions would be wonderful as you are highly respected when it comes to organizing one's day at DL.
First remember that when it comes to FastPass, you can use everyone's entrance tickets. So you can get 5 FP's for say Space Mtn even though maybe only DS10 a DH will ride it (so they can ride it twice if they want).
Good communications strategy is a good idea - cell phones or walkie-talkies to help prevent problems like you experienced.
The most important thing to understand about FP strategy is that you do not need to use FP in the one hour window - DLR accepts FP any time after the one hour window as a matter of policy (I have used FP 14 hours after the window). So that means you can collect FPs and then use them any time later that day.
The second most important thing to undersatnd is that you can collect more FPs if you start first thing in the morning.
Advice on FP rides depends on circumstances, but you should typically not ride FP rides early morning because you can come back to them any time that day and ride it with FP and hence a short line. You should use early morning time for rides that get long lines later in the day but do not have FP. I listed these ones already:
Jungle Cruise
Autopia (has FP but has long FP return lines)
Star Tours
StoryBook Land Canal Boats
Star Tours
Mickey's House
Minnie's House
Gadgets Go Coaster
Matterhorn (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
Peter Pan (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
Dumbo (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
Alice in Wonderland (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
Mr Toad (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
Mad Tea Party (if not an EE day - otherwise ride it during EE)
At DCA, the ones to do early morning are:
Monsters Inc
Maliboomer
Bugs Land Rides
Orange Stinger
Golden Zephyr
To drive the point home, why ride Splash Mtn early in the morning and then wait in a long Jungle Cruise line later in the day when you can ride JC early in the morning with a short line and then ride Splash any time with FP?
The above is just a guideline. We sometimes ride FP rides thru the standby line early morning anyways, but only when it will not force us to ride one of the rides listed above when the wait time is long.
