EE/Line Predictions: GoG and Tiana

Since this thread is predictions:
Gotg 105 minutes @ 9:05
110min @10:00
95min @11:00

Seems like light crowds this week. When Spring Break crowds appear things will get interesting..
I think that this is why Disney did this this week. No festivals and in between Presidents' Day week and Spring Break. It gives the CMs a chance to get procedures in place without huge crowds.

Yep.
Even given that though I'm still surprised how low the wait times are compared to other attractions: it seems to be equal or lower than Remy, Frozen, FoP, Tron.

Could it be that less people are willing to ride it than those other ones (e.g., little kids and elderly and people prone to motion sickness)? And good capacity?

I'm curious, too, if that's the wait to get into the first preshow or wait to get on the ride. Because, if it's only to the first preshow, then there's a built in buffer where they've got people going through two preshow rooms and into a second queue before they actually load.

Do we know definitively whether Disney considers your wait done when you enter a preshow or when you board a ride vehicle?

1. Inflated wait times are a BIG factor at WDW. Last month, I was off TRON in less than half the posted wait time. It was posted 70, and I was off the ride in 34, even using a locker.

2. GoG has very good capacity.

There are now also multiple places for people to go at rope drop.

Another factor is that, even if there is no wait, it takes a while to get through the 2 pre-shows.

The people not riding is probably offset by people who want to re-ride to get a different song. No matter how many times you ride FEA, it is always the same.

True. But it is a good sign.
Yeah.

On the other hand, I've personally seen Rise, Rat, BTMRR and other top rides so empty as to be as walk-ons, but then the very next day, a few hours later, the same rides had an hour+ wait. It is a bit surreal the kind of fluctuations WDW gets.

I also recall when the Frozen sisters were new, and they daily had a 7+hour wait! It was crazy to me that families with small children would wait that long, but they did.

SEVEN HOURS? I believe it, but I can't imagine waiting that long with my small children. That line had to be an absolute nightmare!

I don't think I ever heard about 7 hours for Frozen (or maybe that's for a meet and greet?), but I vividly remember news stories about how bad the wait for the ride was. WAY beyond what I'm willing to wait for anything.

I believe that many parents split up - one stood in line, the other took the kids to do other things, and they met up when the parent in line was much closer to the actual meet & greet.

I think the best true reading will be here in the next few weeks. I hope it stays like it’s been, but doubt it. I sure hope I’m wrong though!

It will get much busier- but so will every other attraction at WDW since Spring Break is kicking into gear. That said, a couple weeks should start showing any general patterns in the data regardless of crowd level.

Yes everything will get very crowded here soon. I’ve been twice the second week of March and it’s horrible. My point was just that I don’t think that we should be getting too excited yet. It’s a slow time between Presidents Day and spring break, and one of those days had rain.

Well, at the time..
1. I always assumed a high % were local AP holders.
2. The long line actually made the Frozen sisters more amazing, and seeing them even more of a bragging point. Imagine being able to say you saw the Beatles, or you were among the first to see the original Star Wars, or that you saw the Harry Potter movies on opening night (the midnight showing when everyone dressed up)

The popularity is part of what made it worthwhile, like other crazes that have taken hold.

but yeah, it seemed kinda crazy to me too!

Though I confess. it also got me wondering about how to see them without having to wait that long (like rope dropping them).

So far the posted hours only suggest it will be sorta busy between now and the 15th. MK is open to 11pm some nights, but that's about it. MK still opens at 9am. I think 4 of the next 17 days AK is open until 8pm, but every other day it closes at 6/7. (further out than that is subject to an update)
