Newbie to USO but where can I get ideas for touring plans for roller coaster fans? They will be there mid-Oct but not attending HHN. Can you hold more than 1 VQ at a time?

Thanks!

Check the stickies for a lot of park info. If you want coasters:
  • Universal Studios Florida: Rip Ride Rocket, The Mummy, Gringott's
  • Islands of Adventure: Hulk, Hagrid's, Velocicoaster
The only ride that has virtual queue at this time is Hagrid's. You have to grab your VQ reservation through a website, it's not on the Universal app - there are a few threads on here with the link and the process.

If you have Early Park Admission and Express Pass, you should be able to get a lot done.

In October, only the USF park has early entry, so you'll probably have to rely on VG for Hagrid's.

I went through the stickies but can't find one for general park info. Sorry to be a pain.

No problem. What else are you looking for?

You won't find many 'touring plans', particularly if you have Express. With Express, with a few exceptions, if you see something you want to ride, just get in the Express line. No need to crisscross the park.

Velocicoaster and Hagrid's are the exception. At present time, neither has an Express line. Hagrid's uses Virtual Queue on 'busy' days. Reports from the park this week are that there is no VQ. You'll have to just check when you are there.

Otherwise, for both of those rides, the general theme park strategies of trying either early morning or late evening work. We much prefer morning - particularly with Hagrid's as that ride can experience frequent downtime.

It sounds like you only have one day? Are the coasters all you are interested in? I'd do early entry at USF and go to Gringott's. You might be able to ride that twice before the other rides start opening. You could probably ride again when the Express line opens.

Start checking to see if Hagrid's is running VQ.

Then head to Mummy and use the Express line a few times. Then to Rip Ride Rocket - once on that ride is more than enough for us. ;)

Now you can exit USF and head to IOA. If Hagrid's isn't running VQ, head to the right and go back to Hagrid's. Hagrid's will likely be the longest wait. Then Velocicoaster and finish with EP Hulk.

Again, with EP, you can ride whatever else you want when you walk past it.

Not sure if this is a better or worse plan, but alternately, you could ride Gringott's a few times, then take the Hogwart's Express to IOA to ride Hagrid's and Velocicoaster. Then leave the EP coasters (Hulk, Mummy, Rip Ride) until later in the day. You'll do a bit more park hopping that way, but might see shorter wait times.

Thank you so much for your extremely helpful reply.
