Education Discount verification?

I tried to go through the DreamRes link a minute ago and while in one place it says that a pay stub is required to verify employment as an education administrator, the next screen says a pay stub isn't enoough, a teaching certificate is required. My husband is in university administration.....he doesn't have a K-12 teaching certificate. Which is actually the rule? Administrators show pay stubs or university ID?? K-12 teachers show teaching certification?? I really don't want to show up and get a huge surcharge.

I didn't know it was an "education" discount, I had thought that you must be a teacher. I'm a nurse and just returned from the Swan and I'm fairly sure that hospital administrators would not qualify. Please let us know if admin. can take advantage because this would be super for anyone else in education or health care. Good luck! I really do feel for anyone paying rack rate when there are discounts out there. I would just call the hotel, not give your name and ask them directly. Threehearts

I believe educational support staff is eligible...which would be verified by a pay stub from an educational institution. Teachers can also use their certificate....which is great for us certified teachers who aren't working outside the home right now.

Hopefully someone can link to where I found this info because i have no idea where it was....

Your best bet is to call the Swan and inquire directly, asking who qualifies and what credentials are required at check in, instead of relying on word of mouth. That way you can be sure and won't have a rude awakening when you arrive.

This is what Dreams says:

"Teacher and Education Support Staff Discount
All teachers and educational facility administrative personnel (includes colleges and universities) can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts. If you are a teacher with a certified teaching certificate, or you are employed in a school as an educational facility administrator you can take advantage of the TEACHER discounts.This would include teachers aides, substitute teachers, and administrative staff. These job types will require a Work ID or letter from supervisor on company letterhead stating employment or a recent Pay Stub.
These awesome discounts must be booked through our DreamsRES system located here"

Then when I got into the actual booking, it said teaching certificates are required and pay stubs were not suficient. That would be tough because I thought it always applied to university professors, who don't have a teaching certificate. Maybe someone on this board is from Dreams and can look into the discrepancy on the website??? Pay stubs and ID are no problem, but he does not have a "certificate."

We used a pay stub for the govt. discount at the dolphin because I knew my DH would forget his ID, which he did. If your husband has an ID I think that would suffice. I agree that you should call and ask what kind of verification is needed. I am an unemployed teacher, and I can't imagine having to bring along my teaching certificate. Who knows where it is?
