I have so much to learn.

I am single, newly retired, and a fairly new DVC member (2 years). My home resort is HH. So far I have been to OKW (twice), VB(twice), and HH(twice). I discovered the DIS site about a month ago. (Wow!)

I am not very savvy about using points, supplementing w/ cash, etc. I love my DVC membeship, however, and recently added 30 points ( wished I could add 100).

What (if any) are the advantages of AP, DC, and CRO(?) for someone like me? Where does one get an annual passport? Is it only for WDW? How much is it? Educate me, please.

And thank you.

AP = Annual Pass. A regular annual pass gives you admission to all 4 WDW theme parks for a year. A premium annual pass also includes the water parks, pleasure island and disney quest. Check here for details:

DC = Disney Club. For $39 for the first year and $29 for renewals, you get park, pass & car rental discounts. Check here for details:

CRO = Central Reservations Office. 407-W-DISNEY. There is where non-members make hotel reservations. You can also get park information here and buy passes over the phone.

Welcome to the DIS and DVC! :)

DC has some usefull discounts, one of which is AP discounts- not large, but if you purchase two AP's you'll pay for the DC membership. As for AP's, rule of thumb is somewhere between 10-12 days in the parks as a break even. We plan our trips to allow 4 trips in one 52 week period- or about 36 days, so for us it's a no brainer- AP's. Our only decision is AP vs PAP. Kinda have it figured out that if our 52 week plan starts & ends in Dec, the go with AP because the only water park open is BB and the weather may not favor water parks anyway. We're not "gamers", so Dis Quest isn't an attraction for us and there's nothing really to do at WWoS unless your involved with a competion. If the 52 week cycle includes two May And an Oct trip, then we do the PAP's. Hope this helped.
