So I know that they mail them to you prior to your stay.(we are onsite) a few questions

So I choose each persons color before?

Can I customize them at all?

How far in advance to I need to me sure to make this selection?

Will wdw contact me about this?

You need to create a My Disney Experience account on the Disney World web site. Once in you'll be able to select the colors for your magic bands and have a name imprinted on the back of each. The web site will also tell you the last day you can make changes to the band order.

Be VERY careful when using those Magic Bands for purchases. The convenience of that little band can make your VISA bill at the end of your stay MAGICALLY balloon to a little more than you may have wanted to spend! LOL

You can charge back to your room and then use a gift card to pay your bill at the front desk. But you'll have to have a credit card on file at the desk for charging privileges.

I just ordered our bands, and with the holidays it took in the range of two weeks which I didn't consider bad at all!

Two weeks, we are leaving on the 20th, I think that's cutting is a little close. Question, Can we by Magic bands in the parks when we get there, and upgrade our cards to the Magic bands......

You can buy Magic Bands any time. All you have to do is link them to your MDE account. They do not have anything to do with your cards as neither cards nor bands store any data, only link to your MDE. Once bands are active, you can use either your card or band interchangeably.

So are you staying at a Disney resort? If so, you are past the time for customizing your bands (choosing the color). You will receive gray bands when you arrive.

Of course you can purchase different bands and link them to your account if you wish.
