Editing Photo Pass Pictures

I posted earlier about this. Several years ago I purchased a photo pass that had embellishments added to each and every picture. The problem was that when I went to print them in 4x6 format each and every pictures embellishments were somewhat cropped out. The only way I could get the pictures to print in complete format was to make it a 5x7. I FINALLY figured out how to fix this. You need to use a program such as word.

1. Open a new document
2. Go to insert and choose picture from file and locate your picture.
3. Right click on the picture and choose format picture.
4. Under size uncheck "lock aspect ratio". Then size your picture how ever you like and your embellishments will show perfectly.

That will of course slightly change how the pic looks..

People will either look alittle more skinny or alittle more fat..

A 5X7 format has a 1" to 1.4" ratio
A 4X6 format has a 1" to 1.5" ratio

If you want to keep the aspect ratio you need to crop some of the picture off.

Can do this in PS by selecting the rectangle marqee tool and changing the Style from normal to fixed aspect.
Add in the width and height aspect (5x7 or 4x6 whatever) and drag the marqee over the whole image.. Move around to suit what you want to keep and crop.

I learned the PhotoPass cropping lesson the hard way too. Now I make sure when I'm doing my CD that I leave a blank version of every pic, and if I want borders/embellishments etc I add them on as an additional copy. Makes the list of pics bigger, but on their CD it doesn't really matter how many you have.
