anyone ever stay at the Eden Roc inn and suites? Its only $56 a night for a 2 bedroom with 1 king and 2 doubles, theres going to be 6 of us. We're staying 2 nughts but only going to disneyland for 1 day :sad1:. It looks close to the parks. Hows the walking from there?

It's one of the most poorly reviewed hotels near Disneyland. Yes it's cheap, but for very good reason. If you really need to save cash, try your luck with Priceline, but I wouldn't stay at Eden Roc under any circumstances.

We will sleep in our car before staying at that dump. Do not leave anything in your car or room that has value. My kids are not allowed to stay here for sibling trips. If you are looking for cheap AND clean AND safe, try Anaheim Plaza or Alpine Inn or the Islander.

A couple reviews from Tripadvisor.com from Oct and Nov... Check it out yourself.

"I am the type that doesn't need a fancy hotel, I just ask that the room be clean and that the fixtures work. This place failed miserably. No hot water until the third shower, the blinds, the baseboards, the legs of the furniture, and the carpet all had dirt spots, splashes and stains. The water pressure in the shower was literally a trickle. Not only was this motel a disappointment, it was filthy. I left after the first night and will never be back!"

"I had booked this hotel for five nights and when I pulled up to the hotel I knew something didn't look right. We check in and walk into the room and it smelled so bad I had to take my kids out. The carpets are ver dirty. The blinds and walls have mold on them. The bathroom has mold and under the sinks had a tone of mold. I have a child that is disabled and I couldn't take it I called expedia who I booked it to to move my hotel. I didn't even stay one night at the hotel and they didn't want to give my money back until I threaten to call the health expectors out. Don't waste your money. Very nasty hotel and like others say they know and they don't care. We changed and stayed at Alamo Inn and it was maybe four dollars more and the hotel was still close to Disney."

We stay at the Super 8 and have always enjoyed our stay. Cheap, fairly close (we walk to the park every day), and an overall good experience.

Yes there are TONS of bad reviews for this place, however we still opt to stay here. We travel just the two of us with no kids. If you do not spend any time in your room other than sleeping this place works IMO. We do bring blankets and towels of our own, but I do that in MOST motels. We cannot afford to spend much on hotels and we stay at Eden Roc for 39 a night. I also require an ECV and this place works with me to get ground floor rooms/Handicap rooms. The walk is a little over a mile, but we drive because we have PAP and free parking. No it is not very nice, yes I have witnessed less than perfect room conditions. But I have never had problems with insects, rodents, stains, unknown hairs, holes in the wall, or anything else that was a huge RED FLAG. I guess we are just lucky.

I would NOT stay here with kids, or if you are the type to retire to your hotel room in the middle of the day for a nap. It simply isn't the type of room you want to be in much because it is so old, and run down and drab.

On the up and up I have only had good experiences with the staff. They are very helpful and accommodating to me. After my trip in Feb I plan on writing an in depth review of my stay there.

Hope I could help sway you one way or the other. :yay:

One of the RN's my wife works with decided to stay here to keep the expenses down and she will never do that again..put a BIG damper on their vacation experience.

This is soooo good to know!! We were actually going to stay at the Eden Roc for our upcoming trip, but then I found out about the HOJOs rate and we liked that it is so much closer. The Eden Roc sounds NASTY! Glad we dodged that bullet!! :worship:

And to the OP~ If you are looking for cheap, and close and clean, have YOU checked out the HOJOs (Howard Johnson's) Entertainment card rate?? Here's the link http://www.boards.hojoanaheim.com/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=14
so you can see if your month qualifies. The rooms are as cheap at $59 a night and it is right across the street, plus it has a awesome waterpark pool playground thing! :D I know they have adjoining rooms there too, so that might help with the space you need! hth

i tried the codes but its wasn't working:confused3 not sure what i was doing wrong. what is a enternainment card? is it something i have to show when i check in?

Hmmm... not sure if I should change it now. We're not looking for anything special just a bed and a shower, but i don't want to stay in anything nasty. we're not going to be spending anytime in the room so my penny pinching side says keep it. I'm not going to find a place that sleeps 6 people (no kids) for only 125 for 2 nights. but im going to keep my eyes out thanx:)

When are you going? If we book early enough, we find Desert Inn and Suites to be a good deal for a group of 6 (we get the suite w/2 queens and a queen sofabed, sometime for $79 + $8 parking + $4 resort fee). DI & S is right across from the pedestrian entrance. Our other budget hotel is the Super 8 on Katella. We can usually get it for about $50/night, but you'll need 2 rooms. I think it's supposed to be about .6 miles from the entrance
