ECVs and OKW

At what point did you tell them that you have an ECV? Did you call MS or just wait until you did on-line check in? And did you request one of the elevator buildings, or just first floor in any building? This will be our first stay at OKW with an ECV, and I don't know how to handle the reservation. I'm very nervous-has anyone gotten there after notifying them of the ECV, and yet still been initially given an upper floor room in a non-elevator building?

There isn't any reason not to advise the resort as early as possible.

Even if you have an ECV, ground floor is not guaranteed unless you go thru Special Needs to flag the reservation. We had reservations in the HH section and were put on the second floor. Member Services said we would have had to book requesting a ground floor with the original reservation. The next time we had reservations near HH and got a ground floor in the near HH section across and down the street from HH.

Good point! Now, I'm just wondering how peoples's experiences have been.

Call Member Services ASAP and have them put it on your reservation as a medical need, not a request and have it the first thing listed.

Most of the buildings are only 2 floors, so even without a request for first floor, you have close to 50 % chance of getting first floor.

There are only 3 buildings with elevators and there are a lot of requests for them.
