ecv's and car hire

We are hiring a Chrysler Voyager or similair for our trip to Disney. We are looking at renting locally two ECV'S both my mum and me are disabled. Would we be able to fit two in the back of this people carrier. There are 4 adults travelling so we are thinking we could put the back seats down.

Any ideas of also who we could rent ECV's from??

Yes, if you get a Chrysler Town and Country or a Dodge Grand Caravan you should be able to fit them in easily. I have rented my ECV from Walker Mobility with great success two years ago. It was $30 for the ecv that accommodates up to 350lbs and $39 per day for the one that will hold up to 425 lbs. For an additional charge of $20 per rental they will put a canopy on it to block the sun.

There is also a place called Randy's Mobility and I think they are a little bit cheaper. I don't have any personal experience with them. Both companies are on the internet but I don't have the links.

If you look at the disABILITIES FAQs thread, there are links to both Randy's and Walker, plus several other companies that DIS posters have reported good experience with.

For the van, if you have a choice, look for a Grand Voyager or Grand Caravan. They both have a longer wheelbase than other vans, which means they have more storage space in the back. Also look for one that has 'Stow and Go' seats. Those seats can be folded flat into the floor of the van. I can't get a direct link that shows those seats, but if you do a google search using those words, you will be able to find more info.
