ECV scooter rental prices

I was wondering if anyone had experience with the rental price of scooters other than at WDW. I used to think Disney's prices of $50/day were really expensive until I went to our local Labor Day weekend country fair where it was $60 to rent an ECV for the day. Is that really, really expensive or are the off-site prices in Orlando, at $30-$35/day very reasonable? I was just wondering since WDW is the only experience I have renting an ECV.

The $30 to $35 is average for the offsite vendors at WDW. Generally, the longer you rent, the lower per day price becomes.

I think your local Labor Day Event was high. Our local Zoo charges $45.00 for the day.

Our State Fair gets $65/day for "standard" scooters, and $75/day for "heavy duty" scooters.

It's insane. They are horrible, broken down pieces of junk that fail and leave riders stranded all over the fairgrounds; the vendor that currently has the contract for the fairgrounds has been called on the carpet more than once, they promise it won't happen again next year, really it won't! and of course... it does.

I think a lot of what keeps prices low for the rental companies in Orlando is simply competition.
