ECV Rental Questions

Haven't been to Disney in 3 yrs. I just read on this thread that Disney's policy on ECV rental has changed and there are now preferred providers. I've always used Randy's Mobility in the past. Adams always drops the scooter off with us but when we leave (which is usually very early am) we leave the scooter at bell services and he comes later and picks it up. It sounds like now this is not possible? That we must be present for drop off and delivery? Unfortunately we are arriving on a holiday and I doubt they are going to want to meet us that day (and we are only there for 2 1/2 days so i just can't wait a day to get my scooter) and we are leaving the hotel at 4:30 am so won't be able to meet them for drop off (and I don't want to have to be without it the last night). So if there is no way around that, we are probably going to have to rent from a preferred vendor. Has anyone rented the heavy duty scooter from Care Medical? What is the charging set up like? Is it just a cord that plugs into the outlet? I don't want a unit that has a battery that we have to plug in. We once rented from another company and there was a big battery that we'd have to plug into at night. I didn't want to carry that battery to the park. With the kind of scooter that just has a cord to plug in, we could plug in at the park if the charge got low.

Any help will be appreciated! Thanks!

The bolded part is true.
There are only certain vendors that are allowed to drop off and pick up from Bell Services. They are listed in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread.
The other vendors need to arrange for delivery and pick up directly with the guest.

There is contact information about all the vendors in post 2 of the disABILITIES FAQs thread. I would suggest contacting Care and asking your questions directly just the way you asked here. If they don't have the type of ECV you are asking for, you can try one of the others.

The FAQs thread is near the top of this board or you can follow the link in my signature.

I also suggest you contact Randy's directly to ask your questions, if you would want to use them again - not just discredit them because of the preferred vendor policy. This new policy has been in place for nearly a year now, so Randy's likely has encountered just about every possible renting scenario. They may have a plan in place to handle holidays and odd-hours (early/late) schedules.

Enjoy your vacation!
