I have a question about ECVs at WDW.

I have a severe heart deffect, and even though I don't need a wheelchair at home, I need one at Disney because the walk is too stressful. Usally I use a small, stroller-like wheelchair at WDW. However, I am a teenager now, and I was wondering if the cost of an ECV would be worth it if it ment some independance. Please help!

Disney and the off-site vendors will not rent an ECV to a person less than 18 years old. And the papers the rentor signs agrees not to allow it to be driven by anyone under 18.

However, if you have your own ECV you cannot be stopped from using it in the parks and resorts unless you are doing something dangerous.

Hi Rwrocksme!

I have been a paraplegic since I was 6, so I know what it's like to have a disability at such a young age. If I were in your shoes, I would rent a regular wheelchair.
