ECV question

I have terribly arthritic knees and plan to rent a scooter for our upcoming trip. At home I get around fine without one but I also don't do a lot. A trip to the grocery store or Target is enough to aggravate my knees. I know I won't be able to do all the walking needed at Disney. However, I think I'll be able to do some walking. So, my question is this -- is there anywhere at the Magic Kingdom to leave the scooter while I take the monorail to one of the resorts (or boat depending on resort) for lunch or dinner. I'm staying at Pop Century so I'd have to come back to MK to catch my bus anyway.

Thanks for the info!

Why don't you just rent one off site and have it sent to POP. It will be cheaper and you will have it when you need it.

I should have been clearer in my original post. I am renting a scooter offsite to be delivered to Pop Century. I was wondering if there was anyway to leave the scooter at the Magic Kingdom to make getting to Wilderness Lodge or another nearby resort logistically easier. Or am I worrying about nothing and should just plan on taking the scooter? I read somewhere that getting on the boat to Wilderness Lodge is very difficult with a scooter and I am capable of walking that short distance.

Another question regarding the scooter -- at restaurants is there somewhere outside to leave it? I don't require it to get to my table and am fully able to sit in a regular restaurant chair.

Thanks a lot,
Garland

Depending on the weather I will usually park my ECV in stroller parking, or just outside the restaurant. If it is raining, or looks like rain, I will ask at the podium where is a sheltered location where I can park it. I have never been made to park it outside during wet weather.

Since it is an off-site rental, you could leave it inside MK somwhere near the gates as long as you take the key with you, however I would suggest parking it in a somewhat out of the way area. But then it is quite a hike from the dock at WL to the restaurants.

Most of the time, the boats to WL are not going to be a problem. There are 2 types of boats leaving from the docks at MK to go to resorts. One type is small boats that have a step down. Those are not accessible.
The other type of boats are larger and are accessible most of the time - when they are not, it's because the water levels are either too high or low for the boat to float at the correct ehight compared to the dock.

The monorails are wheelchair and ECV accessible and are not really much of a problem to get on and off. Just practice going thru doorways.

Plus, if the OP is going from the MK to the Contemporary, she can just ride the ECV over on the walking path.

Things change, but when I was there last month, the WL/FW boat was able to accommodate ECVs. Strangely, even with all the WL passengers off, the boat was still lower than the dock - but the Captain just moved it back down the dock until the two were level.
