Hey there!
We are headed to Disney World in October. My parents are coming with us, and we finally talked my Mom into renting a scooter. Last time she came with us in 2012, my Dad had to end up renting a wheel chair to push her because she has issues with walking long distances. I'm looking at Apple Scooters, and they have a few different scooters to choose from. On their main page the Go-Go Elite Traveller Plus says it has a weight limit of 175 lbs, but if you look at the brochure it says 325 lbs? Then the Pride Victory 10 says it has a weight limit of 350+ capacity. My mom weighs over 200 lbs. I like how the Go-Go Elite can easily be taken apart to fit into their car if they decide to drive over to the parks instead of taking a bus.

Does anyone know why they would suggest only a 175 lb weight limit on the Go-Go Elite?

There is more than one model of Go-Go Elite. If you do a quick Google search, and click on "Images" in the results, you will see that there are both 3-wheel and 4-wheel models. It may be that they are recommending a different VERSION of the Go-Go Elite than the one that is pictured.

Regardless, if you are considering renting from them, I would call them back, and ask them some pointed questions. Don't rent if you aren't comfortable; there are plenty of options in the Orlando area! :)

We rented for my mom form apple 18 months ago and I had the same issue, when I called he said no problem it goes to 300. So..I don't know? It was the same price as the one listed for 175

I think they are being very conservative on the weight limits. I've got a gogo elite traveler plus and have no problems. I'm 240 and 6'1" and it will go all day and handles those long steep monorail ramps just fine. My manual rates it to 325 pounds.

I also had contacted Apple Scooters on two occasions re: their "portable" scooter and received two different responses re: the capacity of the Go-Go Elite and the discrepancy between what is listed on their website and the product brochure and whether the Pride Victory was easily dismantled for transport ... instead I went with Buena Vista and their "portable" scooter as they were more clearer and easier to deal with when I phoned them. We too are looking at making our own way throughout the parks by transporting the scooter with the mini-van we rented to get us back from Port Canaveral instead of waiting around to get on the Disney shuttles - we found it much more convenient that way.

I rented from Apple scooter in August, I had so many problems with their scooters. We were there for 10 days and had to get 4 different scooters from them. The first one was so beat up it was awful the tires had big chunks missing, the second ones battery didn't charge properly and died on the monorail. The third ones charger never charged the battery at all, that one died in the Magic kingdom. I would never use them again, they don't maintain their equipment. We also rented a stroller and that was filthy.
