ECV Parking for Shows

Hi, I apologize if this has been asked and answered before. I am bringing my own ECV from home with us to WDW next month. I have a back injury and can only walk very short distances and can't stand for more than a few minutes, which is why I am bringing my own ECV. I know about the handicapped accessible areas for shows and attractions, and usually they are way up in the last row. What I am wondering is if I can park my ECV in one of those areas and then walk down a few rows so that we can sit closer to the front? We would like to be closer to the experience at shows like Fantasmic! and others. Thanks!

A lot depends on the show. When I worked Indiana Jones we had four WC spaces in the very front. We also allowed people to, if they wished, park ECVs inside the theater at the very back inside the entrance, but then there are stairs with no railings.

F! has stairs with no railings.

Other shows vary by location, but there has to be a safe place at the very back or sides for parking without violating the Fire Codes as far as blocking exit routes in an emergency.

And we will not allow parking in an accessible space and then actually sitting somewhere else as it is tying up an accessible space that is not actually being used by a Guest.

My sister uses an ECV in the parks and I need to sit close to the front to see in shows. When the ECV spaces are in the back, we usually have to make a choice - do we split up, do I not see the show clearly, or does she get the crutches out and hobble to the front?

When we make choice #3, they generally have her leave her ECV somewhere outside the actual theater so it isn't taking up a space someone staying in their ECV could use.
