ECV on Cruise

Has anyone rented a ECV for a Disney Cruise? If so, who from. What about shore excursions? How much alcohol or soda can you carry on the ship? Just starting to research some of this stuff. Not cruising until next Nov. on the Fantasy.

If you're cruising from Port Canaveral, I know many people use Brevard to rent scooters and all. http://www.brevardmedicalequip.com/rental/

I believe Special Needs at Sea also does wheelchair rentals (from different ports). http://www.specialneedsatsea.com/

Not all shore excursions will be wheelchair-friendly. You'll have to read the details on each.

Alcohol policy - each person aged 21 and over may take onboard 2 bottles of wine/champagne (750 ml max) OR 6 beers (12 oz max) on embarkation and from each port stop.

Soda - no limit. But there's a 24/7 drink station with soda onboard.

All beverages must be carried on, not in your checked bags.

We rented a rollator walker through Special Needs for our Fantasy cruise last October - didn't like the model at all - unwieldy and it was too "big" when collapsed - so DW did not use it all for the cruise. Would have rented an ECV but as we did not have a handicapped accessible stateroom ... Learned once we were onboard however that overnight parking for ECVs is available outside the Enchanted Garden on deck 2. Would have gone with that as it wouldn't be a problem for DW to scoot to our stateroom then I would drive/park it there and pick it up.

We used walkermobility last year. Was very pleased with them. Actually had rented from them for the parks before the cruise and then on the cruise, the worked out a great rate and were able to co-ordinate pickup drop off times for the parks.
