Hi,

We are heading to the world at the end of this month. My dad has had some health issues this year and will need an ECV in the parks. My knees are giving out and I'll need one too ... I've read with interest the comments here on ECV's and that they parks run out early ...Is that the case in late October too?

We are staying at OKW ..and unless we luck out and get our request for a grond floor room, we wouldn't be able to keep an ECV in our unit, as you have to use stairs to access 2nd and 3rd floor units ..but, if we do get a ground floor, is it easy enough to call one of the companies you all talk about and get an immediate delivery of an ECV to OKW? Wasn't sure if it required advanced reservations?

We've never used an ECV in the parks (dad has at Costco and the supermarket) are they easy enough to learn how to use?

Thanks!
Peggy

I would suggest that you look at the "disABILITIES FAQ" which is the first item in the disABILITIES Main Page. It gives lots of information, including a list of off-site locations that will rent out ECVs and which people from this board have used satisfactorily.

As far as a first floor room, if you are a member staying on points call Members Services and explain that the first floor is "Medically Necessary" as your father wil have an ECV, unless you are in one of the four buildings with an elevator. This should be noted on your printed confirmaiton.

If you are not staying on points, call the regular Reservations number and again stress that you need the first floor for medical reasons and want it noted on your confirmation.
