ECV before Early ADR

Is it possible to get an ECV before an early dining reservation, before the park actually opens. We have several ADR's around 8:00, the park actually doesn't open until 9:00. Do we have to go all the way to the restaurant and then back to the main gate, or can I get it when we get there before check in? My mother has limited mobility, due to bone disease in her back, she can walk short distances. Any info would be helpful.

I would think you'd be able to, but I'm not certain, as I've never tried. Anyone else know?

Have you considered renting an ECV for your mother from off property? It would mean she could use it at the resort and DTD as well as taking out a lot of hassle associated with renting from the parks (lack of availability, time queuing when you could be playing etc.). I think it may also be cheaper than renting from the parks.

We have looked into renting for the duration. But my biggest problem, is waiting for buses in the morning and the evening. We have been behind people with ECV who have had to wait for the next bus to get on. Don't really want to run into that problem after a long day at the parks. The other problem is if the chair were to breakdown at the parks and it was rented through Disney, they would bring you another one to your location. The rented one's we would have to get to the front gate to have serviced or replaced.

Not correct.

A couple of years ago (before I became a CM) I was way in the back at MGM and somehow the front tire on my (personal) ECV went flat. I had a manager come talk to me and he had a Disney ECV brought to me for the rest of the day at no charge, and the person who brought it wheeled my ECV back to Oscar's near the front gate, so all I had to do was get it out to my car (which was in the disabled lot).

Also I have known of people who had rentals and the rental company was at their location (in the park) within about an hour with a replacement.
