ECV at Old Key West?

Next January will be our first time staying at OKW... really looking forward to it!

I know that most buildings do not have elevators, so when I made the ressie I asked that we be on the first floor or in one of the buildings that does have an elevator because I will have a scooter from a company off-site. CM made a note of it.

I know there are room "requests" but this is really a neccessity. Anyone had experience? Will this be honored? Would I just confuse the issue if I requested location by the Hospitality House which would be my preference?

Been there, done that.

I would request Hospitality House, ground floor due to medical reasons. The Hospitality House is a booking category so you might need a new reservation.

Our last trip to OKW we forgot to ask for ground floor or elevator building. We asked at check in and they got us a ground floor. We have have asked for things like ground floor or elevator building for ECV we have always got it.

I requested ground floor or elevator building due to medical reasons and my request was granted. We were in building 14 - just accross from the hospitality house, but that was before the new booking catagory

We just got back from there actually. I requested at booking being near the hospitality house as I have a walking disability. They put us on a second floor with no elevator. When we got to the room late in the afternoon and realized what happened I immediately called. They ended up sticking us on a ground floor in building 22! Could I be any further. Oh yeah, the first time they tried building 50. When I said I asked to be put near the hospitality house because of my disability she said "well don't you have a car?"
Since we had no choice thats where we stayed. It was a nice room and a beautiful resort too!

Ouch!! Since we won't have a car either, I think I'll call back and ask for Hospitality House, ground floor and hope for the best...

Remember that more than 1/3 of OKW units are ground floor or elevator units, you probably wilnot have a problem.
