I am finally giving in, to thinking about one of these ecvs. I have a fused ankle and hip replacement. I dont want to hinder the progress of my family of enjoyment of their vacation. Needless to say, i am allready swallowing some pride, and i dont want to draw any attention to me or my family because of the ecv. How exactly does the busses work with ecv loading and such. if i get one, i do think offsite would be best the optoin.
Can you leave your offsite ecv at a park for a while. example, if we are at mk and want to go eat at chef mickeys, can you leave the ecv at mk and after dinner go back to mk to tour the park again instead of taking it on the tram. if so where can you leave them?
thanks for your help

If you are at MK and going to any of the monorail hotels it is very easy to use the monorail to/from the hotels with an ECV. If you are going to the Contemporary (such as for Chef Mickey) It is less than a five minute walk from the MK Bus Terminal.

Likewise, if you are going to one of the Epcot Resorts for dinner from either Epcot or MGM it is very easy to use the boats.

For the buses, you wait off to the side of the line, where the back door would be. The buses either have a lift or most now have ramps. You and your party will board first and the ECV will be hooked down. Then the other people will board. This method is used for sfety reasons. When you get to your destination everyone else will get off first; again, this is for safety reasons. The training of bus drivers involves dealing with wheelchairs and ECVs.

where do you park ecv for rides, rest., and shops. i would wait in line with my family, i just need it to cut down on the walking

You can park your ECV near the ride with the strollers. It also took me a while before I gave into using a ECV. I now use my own and find I enjoy the trips to the park a lot better now. You will find it a lot easier to get around I hope you enjoy your trip.

I am still struggling with the decision on whether to use an ECV or not. I have arthritis and bursitis and have a great deal of difficulty walking distances.
Do I understand correctly that you can park your ECV in the stroller area and use the regular line with my family for the attractions? Are there parking areas near restaurants and shops?
TIA

Yes you can park outside of restaurants and shops. You can also take your ECV in the mainstream line for the attraction and they will let you know where to go and park your ECV. You sometimes have to wait a little longer but it is worth it for me. I think you will find the ECV very helpful I wish I had done it sooner. It was my family who finally made me realize I needed an ECV. I have never looked back.

Before you get off your ECV and walk in a line, you should check with the CM to see how far you will be walking. Some of the lines involve a long walk between the entrance to the line and the boarding area. Some 'bad' ones are Bugs' Life and the Safari in AK.
