Economy hotel in walking distance.

We're going to be staying at Desert Inn and Suites when we go in september. We made our reservations a few months ago and got the room for something like $69/night. And it's just about as close as you can get. My impression is that it's a no frills place, which is fine for us since it's basically just going to be used for sleeping. But it was the best combination of cheap and close to the park that I could find.

Desert Inn is our hotel of choice when we can't get the Ent rate at HOJO. You are correct. It's nothing fancy but works well for us since we are only there long enough to sleep and shower.

We've done Anaheim Plaza before as well and it was decent enough. I know they charge for parking but we flew when we stayed there so it wasn't a concern for us.

Why does everyone always ask for walking distance...no one takes the Anaheim Transit

I'm trying to find something for next year for under $100/night, decent, with wi-fi if possible. Only use the room mainly to sleep and shower. Anyone know how to get season rate info about the off-site hotels so we know when it might be cheaper to stay?

Walking distance hotels are one of DLR's greatest strengths. It gives you maximum flexibility for getting back and forth between your lodging and the parks. There are three Disney options and at least a dozen off-site options.

ART is what it is, which means that sometimes it is not very efficient. I personally do not want to risk any part of a $1000+ vacation on transportation that is not very reliable. Also I do not want to waste time waiting for that transportation. I am not saying everyone will have a bad experience with ART. I am saying I have read enough bad experiences that ART would be my absolute last choice.
