Hello everyone,

After being fairly frivolous with our first DLP trip in March we are looking to go again as soon as feasible, probably looking between Sept and Nov this year. This time though we will be wanting to be a little bit more economical, although this does not mean missing out on anything.

We definately want to stay in either HNY or SL.
We definately want a minimum of 3 days/2 nights.
We definately want to travel by Eurostar.

MY questions are all based around the cheapest way of booking:

1. AP or not AP?
2. If booking a package direct through disney website is AP's not an option?
3. Where is the best place to book a DL hotel only if we were to purchase AP elsewhere?

I am a little confused, and really struggling to make any headway with the purchasing and pricing issues. On the official DLP site there is a early booking offer for September, so if nowhere else is better I am tempted to take this offer.

The only thing that puts me off September is that looking at other information available on the web Sept seems to be the quietest month for shows/parades etc..

I know you fellow Diser's will be able to guide me.

Thanks

  1. if more than 3 days in a year, an AP makes sense, especially for hotel and dining/shopping discounts
  2. no you can only book package on the website
  3. you can call directly for AP rates but must already HAVE an AP in hand so first stay with an AP doesn't work out. Check room only rates on www.expedia.co.uk or www.expedia.de (or Eurostar's website)

We booked SL and Eurostar seperately, which saved us some money. The prices for Eurostar was £54, whereas with Disney it was about £85(because children have free hotels and tickets this year). The only downside is that we don't get the automatic luggage transfer to the hotel.

Thanks both for your replies.

I think I will try and book them seperately, but am thinking now of waiting till November when the christmas season starts. I know this is likely to be more expensive, but I think it may be worth it.

I think we will upgrade our tickets for AP's when we are there. But am I right in thinking that we will only get 1 days money taken off the price? not the full value of the 3 day tickets.

thanks again
