Econo Lodge - International Drive - thoughts?

I've booked to stay here next year with my sister and 2 young children, I got a bit carried away and booked it without considering it because the price was good Now on closer inspection I'm just not sure, has anyone stayed there? Is it safe? I'm just used to having an internal hotel corridor rather than anyone been able to walk past the room, I have also read there's no nets on the windows so if you don't have the curtains drawn anyone can look in I've read shocking reviews too but also some amazing one which has confused me further. Can anyone reassure me its fine before I change the booking Thanks.

I'm interested in knowing any thoughts too. My family of 4 will be staying two nights at the Econo Lodge Inn & Suites 8738 International Drive Feb 26th and 27th before our 5 night stay at Universal's RPR.

I specified the address above because I think there are two Econo Lodges on International drive. I've read so many different reviews from "Run, don't walk from this hotel" to "This was the best stay and will be back". I really need some clarity.

The bad one if the one on Orange County near Florida Mall, apparently the home of crackheads and prosititutes I've got a while yet to decide what to do, going to speak to my sister and see what she thinks, I have read some fantastic reviews on the hotel so I think we'll most likely stick with it.

If this is the one I think it is, it converted in the last couple years from a Best Western. It was recently on the Choice Hotels episode of Undercover Boss and they have spent a LOT of money on the property fixing what the CEO saw while there. Not knowing the property well.. it seems okay for what it is.

I would not let anyone I like stay near the Florida Mall....

When you go to the home page for the Econo lodge at the address I mentioned it does state that it is the Econo Lodge shown on Undercover Boss.

Ah! I didn't google it. I think you guys are fine here. It isn't the Ritz but it seems like a clean, safe hotel.
