EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

So how many of us "mums" are traveling alone with kiddies? Anyone want to be table mates??? I am traveling with 3 on my own. Also anyone wanna be my Palo brunch date?? :rolleyes2

Samantha will be 9 while cruising, so our daughters are the same age. We have the early dining though, not sure which you are signed up for. It would be great for her to meet someone her age. She is terribly shy, but warms up to kids much better than adults.

I am considering changing our dining to main this time. I do prefer the later one just to get breakfast later on disembarkment day but its not a big deal for us. I am a gold cacstaway club member this cruise so I can book Palo at 90 days out :)
I've never had Palos for dinner... I'd be up for a date then too ;)
Madigan is probably a great kid to hook Samantha up with. She is very out going and chatty. She loves making new friends.

sweet lovin' and eeyora... shall we have a solo mom and kids dining table??
The 3 of us = 10 :) Finn is the same age as Eva and Grady and Parker are the same age too!

I just booked we will be in cabin 6534 Traveling will be my dd 12,ds 7,dd 5 and myself. We would like to participate in FE.We will be at Disney World before cruise and after visit Paris and visit friends from previous cruise in London.

We are also doing WDW beforehand from May 14th - 19th. We will be staying at Saratoga Springs resort and doing a park day. It would be great to get the kids together before hand :)
Do you know where you'll be staying?

That's funny I like the late for the late breakfast too and so you don't have to rush in from port but,we don't have that many port day's. I asked for main but I haven't heard back from TA yet.

Sounds great to me! When my TA sends my info I will p.m. you my info.

We are doing late dining. Partially because we normally eat late, but also because we will be losing an hour every couple of days. I think that early would become too early by the end of the cruise:rotfl:

Also in Europe they tend to eat late. I know DH and I arrived at a restaurant in Rome at 9:00pm and were the first ones there it got busier as the evening went on:rotfl2: I think we will be better to be acclimated if we stick with late.

Interesting. I never thought of it that way before. I'm still nervous about Sam falling asleep though. I'll have to think about that.

Hi ... just popping in to say hi :thumbsup2 as I am hoping to do this cruise. We are Sarah and Tony from Wales and are booked on this one and on the WBTA to save on airfares ( a return to USA being the same price more or less than one way )

On this cruise we are travelling with a group of friends who are all seasoned WBTA cruisers. It is not my ideal itinerary as I like to visit a lot of places but I am looking at it as a chance to get some rest and relaxation and just chill a bit.

We have done 2 WBTA cruises on DCL and loved every minute, so I am sure this will be equally as wonderful, although losing an hour each night instead of gaining will be a bit strange.

Looking forward to chatting and planning :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

Welcome to the group (hoping you are able to make it)

We are planning to book this cruise while we are onboard the EBTA in May. We'll also book the WBTA as the round-trip flight is cheaper then the on-way and since we'll have the ticket it is a good excuse to book the cruise. Look forward to planning with all of you. Val & Bob

Whoa. That's genius. I've been struggling w the price of a one way.

Copied this message from the DISboard forum in case you haven't seen it:

"We've been asked to share the following letter that DCL will start delivering to guests in the coming weeks.

Thanks,
PEte

Dear Guests,

We are glad that you have joined us aboard the Disney (Choose Ship)!

As you may be aware, it is important to us to keep our facilities looking their best for all our guests. As part of our commitment to this area of focus, we ask that you do not affix anything to your stateroom door utilizing tape or any adhesive, including removable gel adhesives. We have found that these adhesives damage the finish on our stateroom doors; therefore we ask that you limit door decoration to those of the magnetic variety.

Concurrently, we ask that guests not use over-the-door hanging organizers as they have been found to scratch and/or disfigure stateroom doors and trim.

Guests found with damaged doors are assessed a $100 damage fee per incident to cover the cost of repairs.

Your attention to this matter will greatly assist us in keeping our shipboard environment looking ship-shape. Should you have any questions, please feel free to contact Guest Services, Deck 3 Mid-ship.

If interested, magnetic door decorations are available for purchase in our merchandise area. For your convenience, magnetic strips are also available at Guest Services.

We appreciate your cooperation and hope you have an enjoyable sailing.

Sincerely, "

:welcome:Val and Bob:welcome:

Sounds like the perfect reason for booking two cruises!! :)

Whoa. That's genius. I've been struggling w the price of a one way.

I just searched Priceline for March not June because it doesn't go to June next year yet. I looked at several different paths and so far it seems to be least expensive for Sam and I to book Paris to Washington DC ($400 each) then book DC to ATL.

It's an idea, but you might want to look and see if it is less expensive to book from Barcelona to NY and then see how much it is to fly NY to your local airport. I actually haven't checked NY to ATL yet.

When I booked a trip to Fiji, it was less expensive to fly from ATL to LAX first, then book LAX to Fiji roundtrip. From ATL to Fiji it is over 2k, but booking this way it was a little less than 1k per person. Just a thought

Hi Val and Bob ... we are hoping to do both too ..for the exact same reason :thumbsup2:thumbsup2

We'll be SAVING money by buying the round trip airfare ticket so we HAVE to go on both cruises. That my answer and I'm sticking to it.

I like your thinking;) I am now trying to figure out if I can take that much time off work:rotfl2:

Absolutely!! :)

For the record, Paris to DC was less expensive than any of the others and flying on Thursday seems to be the least expensive day to leave. Tuesday was next.

I never checked from Spain since it is not my final destination.:scratchin
