EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

I think we will do a couple days at WDW before and spend 4-5 days in Barcelona after.

I wish we could do Disney first, but the last day of school is May 16th. I would just head to Epcot because Flower and Garden is going on and that is my favorite time to be at Epcot. I'm afraid we will still be packing

I need to start looking at hotels around Barcelona. I will stay the weekend there before heading to Paris. Hopefully, I can take the girls around to do some really cool things. They never wanted to go to Spain because they didn't want to run with the bulls. Who doesn't want to do that?:confused3 My brother and cousin have done it, but I haven't been to Spain. I'm excited tour it.:goodvibes Whatever we miss the first time, or found to be a must do, I'll take the others back to those two days.

We just reserved a room for this cruise, myself and my Mom. We are excited to go. I was talking so much about it that my hubby says he now wants to go but he won't have enough time off to go at that time.

It sounds like some of you have experience on these longer cruises. All I know is that I enjoyed the great customer service we had on the Disney Mexican Riviera cruise and really enjoyed meeting all of the different people we ran into and the workers from so many different countries.

Welcome to the group!

Welcome!! Will this be your second Disney cruise?

I'm a little overwhelmed. I am glad it is over 400 days away at the moment;)

Me too gives me time to plan. We want to try and do maybe 3 days in barcelona before heading back home

I too am a "planner" so I already have an idea of what we are doing...
Disney from Tuesday May 13 - May 19 on DVC points
Bus or Car service to DCL docks
Disney Magic: May 19 - May 31 :P
Barcelona: May 31 - June 2
London/ Manchester: June 2 - June 13/ 14

OR
We do Disney from May 13 - May 17
Cocoa Beach May 17 - 19

I am just thinking it might be more feasible to stay at Disney since I will have 3 kids on my own... and they LOVE the pool games at the pools...

I'm so glad I am not the only planner!! I seem to be the only one headed to DLP :upsidedow I think we are going to do UK and Ireland after Disneyland Paris. My kids all want to see the show Wicked on the west end. I have explained that Wicked is here in the US, but none of them are interested. Apparently, the show is better in London.;)

DLP could still be in the cards instead of Barcelona for the weekend.. Depends on any deals in airfare and such :)

Im headed to Germany and Austria this summer. From Munich to Paris was $150 roundtrip. Not a terrible price, but I think it was one too many airplane rides for this summer. I am assuming Barcelona to Paris will be inexpensive.

I think it might end up being a "girl trip" for us. My two girls and I are still planning on going, but my son might not be joining us. He'll fly over for Disneyland Paris, UK and Ireland. He's really into history and loves traveling, but he is concerned about missing too much training if he goes with us. He's rather not spend the 12 days on a ship and just meet us there.

DLP would be on our list of things to do if we decide to go to Paris after the cruise. We have 5 days after the cruise to spend in Europe. I would like to spend the time in one city to get the most out of our time. Barcelona and Rome are at the lead with Paris and London as strong other possibilities. I am sure I will change by mind aboat which city a number of times before we go.

Air fare is very reasonable in Europe compared to North America, especially Canada.

I can see that 12 days of cruising is not the best use of time if you prefer the destination:) a girls trip would be fun.

My computer power supply blew this week and I am replying on my iPad and it is a pain to type on on this site. So please ignore any typos. I guess I should use the app it might work better. My new computer won't be here for almost 2 weeks:crazy2:

Two weeks is a very long time to wait for a new computer:scared:

Nico has yet to go on a cruise, but more than that, he is headed to Spain for 10 days in April, a short 4 day cruise in Jan, DLP, London, and Ireland in June. Another 12 days of missed training is a lot for a 13 year old with a dream of playing pro. I agree, it's not the best use of his time. Julie on the other hand wants to be a chef and Samantha just likes to be with mommy. So, and extra 12 days of vacation for them is fine.;)

London/ Manchester: June 2 - June 13/ 14

This sounds like our plans. Except just London not Manchester and for longer. DH will probably fly home from Barcelona and then the kids and I will fly to London.

So I worked out DH's shifts for next year and it now looks like he won't be able to take vacation for our cruise :-( He said "we'll have to move the cruise" not realizing it only happens once a year. I'm so torn. I don't want to go without him, but I so want to do this. We live about 1 1/2 hours from PC, so the WBTA into San Juan isn't really an option. And being that the kids and I always go to England to visit my family and friends (I moved to the States 12 years ago), this worked out so well.

It's not always easy leaving people behind, but for a Disney Cruise sometimes you just have to make the sacrifice and go without them.
