EBTA 2014...Across the Atlantic we go!!!

They didn't have french immersion where I lived when I was in school so I never had the opportunity. I wish I was fluent in another language. I think it opens up so many other opportunities.

I completely agree!

Hello all!

My family and I are joining in on the fun (me, dw, ds(4), dd(1)).

We are going to do a back to back with the med on the back end (obviously!) This just seems like the best way to afford to see some of Europe with the little ones while retaining some semblance of sanity!

Looking forward to it!

Our family of 8 are looking to book. My husband and I did the cruise in 2011 and it was great. Though I really would have liked to do the WBTA, I really like the stops, etc. But I think do to work schedules the May will work better for everyone.

We are vacation club members and have points to use, though we will probably just book inside cabins for everyone. Last cruise we were upgraded to a balcony a few months before sailing - that was super nice.

I just got to thinking today I need to order fish extenders for the other cabins. Our roll call group was super when we sailed before.

Will let everyone know for sure, but I am thinking we will book within the next week.

Our roll call for the 2011 was hugely popular. We had multiple fish extender groups, we had those doing candy exchanges, they did a breakfast in their PJ's, a pub crawl. They had a link posted to a huge google spreadsheet that had tons of listings, sign ups, things to do. They even wore certain colors on specific days to make the Dis Boards group stand out.

I believe we all worn lime green on embarkation day, I remember another day had purple and another was red. We took a huge photo in the atrium of the group when we were wearing red and there wasn't even the whole group show up for the photo.

I sure hope we get together the fish extender gift exchange. I got so many cute things, people made magnets to decorate the doors, I got key chains, each person also included something from their state that was inexpensive to give out. For instance I gave out little jelly jars that were made in Virginia.

Welcome to the group! We debated about a B2B with the Mediterranean, but we would be over 3 weeks away I don't think we can swing it with work or our dogs :rotfl:

I am sure things here will pick up.

I don't know how interested I would be in dressing in the same colour;), but on our last cruise we did lanyards. They were $3/person and they were a great way to identify members of a group.

I think we will probably want to participate in the FE, my daughter loved it last time.

What kind of dogs do you have? I have 2 goldens, but apparently, there was an unspoken rule about turning 10 and getting a puppy. So, by the end of 2014, I will have 3 goldens.:rotfl2:

I don't think all of us have the same color clothes. We might all have a white shirt, I know none of us have lime green. I think the thread and the group will pick up as we get closer into it.

I know for me, I am taking 4 other trips before this one, so while I am trying to keep up, I know I will be gone for a while during the summer and over Thanksgiving and in Jan and Feb next year. I will try to stay updated so I don't get too behind on the up takes.:goodvibes

We have 2 little dogs a 14 year old Pug and a 4 year old Brussel Griffon. My daughter would love another dog or cat, but I think 2 is enough for now. Your dogs are cute, especially the puppy, but who doesn't love a puppy.:)

Very jealous. We did an bunch of traveling the last 2-3 years, so this year we have no big trips planned. Just a road trip to Toronto to visit my sisters, while I am sure it will fun I would rather some place more exciting;).

So I am just counting down the days until this trip:rotfl: I may want to get more involced in some of this groups planning it will help to pass the time.

To be completely honest, we aren't really suppose to be going on a family trip 2014. Even years we do individual trips. I take my kids each on a trip as a chance to get to know them individually. 2012 I went to England with my son, Disney world and disneyland with my middle girl, and Disney World and a cruise with my youngest.

2013 is the family trip so we are headed to the Asia Disney's and a few other countries. 8 in total. Then we are headed to Fiji for Thanksgiving.

2014 I am taking my son to Spain, my youngest on a cruise and Disneyland and my middle child on a cruise and Disney World. So, in the summer I was suppose to lovingly ditch my kids and go somewhere exotic or different. In 2012, I went to Australia, New Zealand and Fiji and had a blast. None of my kids wanted to go. But now, none of them want to stay behind. I think my last vacation looked like too much fun. ;)

I ended up purchasing T Shirts to match the colors they had chosen, the lime green for instance was a color I didn't own. I figured why not be part of the group if I could find some cheap shirts. I did, so we went along, I am sure not all did. I only remember doing the green, purple (for villains night) and red for some other day.

We did do lanyards, though I think a couple in the group did them and the rest of the group didn't pay for them. They were purple with the EBTA and date written on them. Others gave us some magnets, key chains, etc.

I did not do the breakfast in my pj's, missed a couple other things like the candy exchange, room type tours, etc. Someone had put together a huge google excel spreadsheet and facebook group that had them posting. In fact they still actively post on the facebook group.

I forgot my PJs in Disney World this past Jan, so I drove to Walmart and grabbed a t-shirt from the guys dept for $3!! It was neon pink, but it works for me sleeping. I think everyone in my crew would wear red and purple. :thumbsup2 I agree about joining is as much fun as there is planned. I just won't be around much to plan anything. But I will try to keep up with as much of it as possible.

I went to Disneyland with Julie last Sept. We had a facebook page and we still post because we all figured out we were going back this coming Sept. ;) I don't think any of us met up (or at least I didn't) but I still keep in touch. I've been on two Dream FB pages, but again, 3 day cruises I never met any of them. I am sure if we have planned events and 12 days, we will meet up with the people here. ::yes::

Where did you go on your vacations? I love traveling and listening to the places other people have been.

I had to explain to my kids the puppy is little for just a while and then it's your doggie for life.

I looked up Brussel Griffon, but they are cute.
