A. The cruise I'm taking in Sept out of NYC is doing a FE and they keep posting the list with all the cabin numbers on the thread.... which anyone can see, even if they don't even sign up for an account on the DISboards. Would that give anyone else the heebie jeebies a little or is it just me? Like... the list includes the number of kids in the cabin and their ages and everything....

Thanks Julie - is that the 9/12 cruise? We were originally on that cruise and I have been reading the thread as well - that bothered me too about the cabin numbers.

We are taking the 9/7 cruise and they are doing a spreadsheet as well, but not very organized - not sure who is adults, which are kids, how old they are, etc. - makes planning tough - hoping we can straighten it out

Julie and Tammy: I'm another one bothered by the posting of the room numbers. This is a public forum, and there are all kinds of whackos in the world, some of whom know that I'm cruising. I can think of several ways that knowing my room number could cause problems. I won't list them here since I don't want to give anyone ideas!

Very cute! Did you make it with a Cricut? I've always thought I'd love to have one, but can't make myself pull the trigger on it since all the stuff I bought to scrapbook with is still sitting in boxes.

Not sure what the downside would be - what nefarious scheme would some other happy cruiser think up to do with that information? Besides, your kids aren't likely to be in the cabins without you. The potential upside is - people (like me) who aren't on the FE list might leave you a little surprise . . .

I don't mind anyone on the cruise having the information at all. If I recall correctly, Tammy has it set up that someone has to provide their email address to her to get the link to the spreadsheet with the info. So someone is at least identifying themselves in some way in order to request it. It's just knowing this is a public forum that doesn't require any kind of registration to read that kind of throws me. It's probably just more my observation of my sister's custody battle that makes me wary.

Yes, the parts are from the cricut - but don't go buy one unless you have lots of use for it - they're expensive and so are the cartridges to go in it. Over on the scrapbooking board several of the girls have different brands, but i'm not ready to invest in a new one of any kind. C'mon over if you'd like some encouragement to get stuff out of boxes.

I'm not very worried about other cruisers knowing my stateroom info and not at all concerned about non cruising lurkers. It's the Facebook page. Last I checked, anyone could see who is in the group. Not a good idea to let the "whole world" know that you will be out of town for two weeks. I won't be joining the fb page for that reason.

Also, Villians Tonight is performed on the Dream too.

I'm not very worried about other cruisers knowing my stateroom info and not at all concerned about non cruising lurkers. It's the Facebook page. Last I checked, anyone could see who is in the group. Not a good idea to let the "whole world" know that you will be out of town for two weeks. I won't be joining the fb page for that reason.

That's why we are not joining. A FB pages can be 'secure', 'safe', 'restricted', but there is ALWAYS a way to get around that, in the criminal mind.

We must all lurk the Disboards! I sent an email to DH earlier to see if this sounded good to him too (yes, we communicate through emails). Haven't completely ruled out the ruins yet but this sounds like a very good option. Plus we can travel in group - safety in numbers!

I saw this, too, and thought it looked great...but on our first time in Costa Maya, on 12/21/12, we HAVE TO do the ruins . Maybe next time....

There are no rules...do whatever you like. There will be plenty of kids gifts, I'm sure (and the real fun is just finding something in your FE, no matter what it is). Last year, we did kids goodies in addition to a cabin gift, but I'm not 100% certain what I'm doing this time. Too many ideas, and not enough luggage space .

The gift is for the whole family so it should be fine, but still!
I wanted to make little paintings with Mickey on them but no space in the luggage!
