We were thinking of doing stockings too. We already have Mickey themed ones for the DD's. Wondering (no pun intended) if that's enough?

Our 10 year wedding anniversary was yesterday and we went to Ruth's Chris and had a beyond outstanding dinner. Is that close to what we can expect in the MDR's with presentation, service and food? Or is it like Palo?

Haven't you seen any of the "food porn" photos? Boy! HAve you got a treat coming. Let me see if I can link you to the trip report. My DH and I went to see the musical "Wicked" last week as it was playing in our town. If you have not seen it yet, you really must, it is fantastic. If it comes to your town, check to see if they are doing the ticket lottery before each show. We tried the lottery and we won. We had 5th row seats for $25.00 each. Anyways, I am really looking forward to watching the Disney musicals on board the Wonder. How come it seems that the Magic has more musical shows than the Wonder? Are there shows on the main stage every night and if so, what kind of shows are they?

I was wondering about what the women usually wear on formal nights. I know I read on this thread that men's clothing ranges from tuxes to dress shirts with/without ties. Is it safe to assume that women's clothing also ranges from evening gowns to pants and blouses? I am not a girlie girl when it comes to dressing up. I am most comfortable in t-shirts, pants and running shoes. When I do get dressed up, the best I usually manage are dress pants and a nice blouse. However I did go out and buy a couple of dresses for the cruise. They are nice dresses but certainly not evening gowns. More like nice dresses to wear to church on Sunday. Will I be terribly underdressed on the cruise? I do have one saving grace though, it turns out I have my own Fairy Godmother! Those dresses should be perfectly lovely! You'll see everything from ball gowns to not dressed up at all. I do think shirt untucked and a ball cap, (such as one young man at our table wore every night of the cruise) was a wee tad underdone, so to speak, but a little effort goes a long ways toward making the evening special.

For evenings, I will bring one two piece "church" dress (black & white print), one longish skirt (black), a pair of black pants and a few black ,cream, or color tops. Oh, and a small black sweater or jacket because I'm always cold in the diningroom. Add some jewelry or a scarf and done.

I remember our first family NYE cruise and getting on board and being terrified that we would be under dressed. We asked a CM about formal night, and they looked at us and said, "this is a Disney cruise". Basically saying, relax, enjoy and have fun. I will have a couple of summer dresses that I wear to work, and will add a sweater, jewellery and voila my formal wear. I am a very light packer and for a 2 hr dinner, I am not going to buy or that matter even consider packing an outfit for one evening. Anything I bring needs multiple purposes. Even if the means it will be used for Christmas Eve church service in Florida.

I do not have an answer, as we are first time cruisers, however, I needed to chime in. We love, love LOVE Wicked!!!! Saw it twice around Christmas last year at the Pantages in Hollywood. Both DD's know every word to every song! Congrats on your lottery win!!!

We are back in Texas. We loved our Disneyland trip. My favorite memory was at Tomorrowland at the Jedi Training. My barely 40 inch three year old granddaughter was one of the ones picked to battle the evil Darth Vader. It was priceless. Luckily she is no stranger to a light saber having had many battles with my son who is a huge Star Wars fan.
Of course we rode Pirates of the Carribbean lots and lots of times since we got in early and there were no lines. Sherry

Not sure why (if?) there are more/less Broadway musical-type shows on on different ships. There will be some kind of show in the Disney theater almost every night, but on a 14 night cruise you can expect bands or solo musicians, several comedy/magic/juggling acts and probably a first run movie, or even a premier movie showing, if there is a Disney film released while we cruise. As far as Disney musical shows on the Wonder, there is the Welcome Aboard show which I think has some singing and dancing, Toy Story, Disney Dreams, and Remember the Magic on the last night. I see that the 14 night Hawaii cruise had a Crew Talent show one night, and there was a night with no big show in the theater, but a deck party instead.

We love the Broadway style shows, we have seen nearly all of them, but I am looking forward to seeing them again.

Our first cruise was a 3-day Wonder Bahamas cruise. We were so clueless that we didn't realize there was a Personal Navigator until well into the second day of the cruise.

The crew talent show is on all 14 nighters!
It is so great!!!! We Loved this one on our WBTA last year!!! Who remembers this too?

Ps. I hope they don't bring Charo along that was ......(still have goosebumps and feelings like i wanna puke) . Although the guitar part was oke!!!!

Thanks for this info. I wanted to go see Brave with my daughter but she went with a friend instead. I am too embarassed to go to a Disney movie on my own, without a kid so I was hoping they would play it on the cruise.
I won't be embarassed to see it there and DH will come with me too - and it will be that much more special because of the setting.

On the MV of the Fantasy we had a show where the composer of Wicked played and sang and the singer who was the singing voice of Jasmine sang for us. It was great! They also had Larry the Cable guy. I had never heard of him (I don't watch TV) so we skipped it and it sounds like it was not for kids anyway. I would love to see another Disney composer. This was once in a lifetime for us as we live in a small city in a rural area in Canada. Not too many stars around here!

I saw Wicked in June when it played in Sacramento, and I also really enjoyed it!
