We are currently booked on a non-stop flight from MCO to FNT with EBCI already added. I am thinking about changing to a flight that departs MCO and has a layover (with plane change) at BWI before heading to GRR. Will our EBCI carry over to both legs of the new flight? I haven't flown with a layover in 7 years:)

When we changed our outbound flight from Grr to FNT, our early bird carried over. I would think that with the plane change, you would have to buy early bird check in for that leg of the flight

Not necessarily regarding early-bird, but ...

when you are taking a flight that has a connection on Southwest, you are checked-in for all legs of the flight at the same time you are checking in for the first leg. That is why sometimes even when you check-in at exactly 24 hours before your flight, your number may not be that great - because others who are connecting to that flight may have been automatically checked-in 4 hours before you did since their starting flight takes off 4 hours earlier in the day.

EBCI is the same price per direction, non-stop or connecting. So it would still be $12.50 per direction.
