Ebayers...How long should I wait ....

How long should I wait for an item to come to me before I leave negative feedback or try to get my money back?

I have always paid for my item within minutes of winning a bid. I won and paid for a bid on May25 and the item has not come yet. I contacted the seller and she "said" it should be here this past Tuesday. It still has not gotten here. I normally look at the feedback before I bid but I forgot this time and once I had been waiting for a while I went back and read it and ALOT of people were complaining about the time for shipping. Some were waiting 1-2 MONTHS. What should I do??

Did you by chance pay for insurance or did you get a tracking on the package? I'm assuming no tracking... From what state to what state should this have item come from? Did the seller have to wait for a personal check to be cleared? Most of the time if you pay via check, the seller will wait till the bank clears it, and it may take a day or two once your check arrives.

I did not get the insurance. It was supposed to come from Maryland to Georgia. She states that package will be mailed 3-5 days from receipt of payment and I paid with paypal from my ckg. acct.

How did she ship it? Things like media mail can take this long. If she's in communication with you, I wouldn't leave a neg, as that's usually the end of working things out. You can ask for proof of mailing from the seller if you are concerned that it was never shipped.

Did she offer insurance, btw, and did you turn it down? If she didn't offer, I think she should make good on the item. If you turned down insurance and she can provide proof that she mailed it on time, I don't think she derserves a neg.

I sent a third email a few days ago asking more questions and she never replied so I filled out both the square trade thing and the ebay fraud form. She replied to square trade that she would make a new one and send it out on Thursday. Considering her bad feedback I would bet the "first" one had never even been sent.

I've only bought 2 things on e-bay, the first came from Florida and took 3 days from time of mailing, the second came from Washington state, was mailed on a Friday and got to me 2 days later on Monday!

You might also want to file a complaint/dispute through PayPal since you paid using their service, but, I would do it soon as you only have 30 days from the time you paid to have them try to intervene .... Andy
