Ebay Vmk Ads On Dis?

Wow where have I been? I just noticed some vmk/ebay ads here on the board. Is this new?

Also Im wondering why ebay wasnt removed from the vmk dictionary yet? Back during dreams when we got things off ebay, vmk added ebay to the dictionary. A few days after dreams month was over Sweet myself and a bunch of our friends were in our trade room talking about ebay and in comes vmk_Lion ( I believe it was lion or Eagle). Anyway he warned us about talking about ebay and said it would be removed from the dictionary soon. It hasnt tho, anyone know why?

It would be nice if they would make items available on ebay, credits included. I was just sort of surprised to see the ad.

They have been there for awhile now. You can't really control what ads they will show. eBay is basically sponsoring the DIS Boards, and as this is the VMK portion of the boards they advertise the VMK items on eBay.

they are not advertising VMK items, they are CARDS which is allowed under ebay rules, and VMK rules. What is not allowed is in game items. Any time an in game item pops up, ebay removes it toute suite.

On a side note: I just snagged the Real pin sets for $130 flat. all 13 Tiki pins and all 5 Pirate pins, all I need now are the 3 Space mountain
and if you know Disney pins at all, thats less than $8 a pin!

You do know this board is mainly a WDW fan support site. This VMK is just a sub boared because I remember when it first started (VMK that is) The VMK posts were getting lost in that busy Theme park boared.I first joined DIS in 1997 when I was researching my first ever WDW trip and then after that trip I lost my sign in info so I rejoined a couple years later as this me.

Back to the question at hand. The board is so huge they need revenue to support it. Ebay is just paying them to be there. Funny they target us in VMK boards with VMK stuff. I think thats their creative marketing lol.

Yes vmk is just a tiny tiny part of this dis board. I know ebay and disney have been working together for sometime, with disney auctions on ebay, and then dreams month. But like I said earlier, vmk_Lion said ebay will be removed at some point from the vmk dictionary. I guess because of the fact of talking about other web sites, here its ok tho to mention ebay.

There are a couple of reputable sellers who went to other sites or their own site that I know of, but there are a dozen scammers out there who want cash through the mail and such. All ebay did was increase the chances of someone getting scammed. If people want to pay real money for virtual items, let them! It is a free country.

I agree with you totally. I know there are some scammers out there now who ask for cash up front. But if ppl know you bought stuff off ebay your lower than dirt (on vmk). But I know for a fact many many "wealthy" vmk players did just that. Thing is most deny it rofl. Thats the funny part. Whats wrong with ppl spending money on virtual things? I love ebay, always have, always will.
