What kind of USPS service do I get to protect me as a seller? I had someone claim that they didn't receive my package. I refunded the money and I want to avoid this from happening again. I'm sending out a package today. Should I get just tracking on it? Thx!

Get delivery confirmation. I think it is around .80 cent. It will tell when the package was delivered.

ALWAYS ship with tracking of some sort. This is included with FedEx and UPS packages. It's an additional charge for USPS unless you pay/print postage online.

As for being covered as a seller, it doesn't matter which service you use. As long as you have the delivery info you are covered. If the item was over $250 you are suppossed to get signature confirm as well.

I always print my labels online from USPS and they give you free delivery confirmation which gives me peace of mind.

Since the person sent payment via PayPal, click on the "print shipping label" icon that shows up next to the person's payment. You have to enter the weight of the package (so get that first). You get discounted shipping prices ($1.64 for up to 2 ounces, $1.81 for 3 ounces) - when at the post office it is $1.95 for up to 3 ounces. AND, you get free delivery confirmation!

I'm guessing you started selling without doing much research. It is essential that you go to both eBay and PayPal's seller pages and learn how to protect yourself. You made a big mistake by shipping without delivery confirmation.

Super easy to ship from PayPal screen and delivery confirmation is free on first class and .19 on other categories. Then you just click on the 'track' button and find out when delivered. It's amazing how my 'lost' items have disappeared when I can provide tracking and delivery info.

Tracking is good for proof it got delivered, but insuring it also will protect against loss or damage

Same here...they mysteriously appear when you tell them it was delivered! How do you know the weight when you print the labels? I am afraid to get the incorrect postage so I end up going to the PO so they can weigh it, I could save a lot of $ getting free delivery conf.

Download USPS Shipping Assistant (now called Click 'n Ship) and select the option to print without postage. You can estimate the weight but it doesn't really matter (as long as you pick first class parcel) UNLESS you think it weighs over 13 ounces in which case you pick priority mail. You pay for the postage at the post office (no discount) but you still get FREE delivery confirmation.

Years ago I bought a small food scale (up to 5lbs) and that works for most of the stuff I sell. For the bigger stuff I use or regular scale that shows ounces as well. Make sure you get the weight with the packing materials included.

Ship through Paypal, it is super easy and has all the info emailed to the buyer automatically. Online you get a discount on shipping and DC is free. For more expensive or fragile items I add insurance. For time sensitive items like event tickets I add signature confirmation.

THANKS! This will definately save me some cash!

I bought a cheap little scale at Walmart that works for up to 3 pounds..works great. For bigger boxes just weigh yourself with box , then without, and subtract the difference.

Not finding the option to print without postage, are they still doing it?
