Has anyone bought tickets on ebay? How do they offer the lower prices? Can you tell the difference between the old passes and the new Magic Your Way? A friend is looking to buy them there and I warned him you won't know until you get there if they're legit.

DON'T buy them. You won't know until you get there and are at the gate of your tickets are good or not !! If it were me I wouldn't want to take that chance !! :sad2:

There are many legitimate online ticket brokers out there.
Ticketmania.com and DiscountOrlandoVacation.com to name a couple. I think it's a big risk to purchase tickets on any auction site. You don't know what you're getting.

As far as the appearance of MYW tickets vs. old PH passes is concerned, they look the same on the front. The reverse side of the MYW has a place for the owner's signature and very specifically states that it is a MYW pass.

DO.

NOT.

BUY.

TICKETS.

ON.

EBAY.

(Usually I am much more wordy and would explain all the nasty reasons why...but that's all that really needs to be said!)

N.E.D.

Disney tickets are non-transferrable so anybody even selling them is breaking the rules already. People are either trying to make money back on a partially used ticket or a ticket they couldn't end up using at all or scamming someone by selling them a fully used ticket.

I have seen one poster writing about the tickets they bought off eBAY only to find they had been scammed when they attempted to enter the parks.

If the tickets have not been used, they can be re-sold.
Most of the tickets I have seen on eBay, have not been used.

I would not tell someone to Not buy from eBay. I would recommend watching the market for a while, and buying from someone with a lot of feedback (and no negatives for non-delivery or mis-representation of item).

What I don't understand, is the high prices they go for.
Most people have a different risk to savings ratio, which they are willing to accept, than I have.
I admit that I didn't watch the ticket market for more then a few weeks, but I think I saw the general trend.

If you do watch the market, and decide to buy, don't wait until too close to your trip.
I watched the Pal Mickey market for almost 3 months, and then ended up paying above the average selling price anyway (it was getting too close to my trip and I really wanted version 1.1).

I purchased three childrens annual passes on ebay. I rec'd vouchers to purchase annual passes with. I was a little nervous giving them when purchasing 3 adult annuals not a problem. It was nice to save money. The adult tickets are finger scanned, so I didn't do adults. It saved me a couple of hundred dollars and I used my ebay money I earned selling my childrens clothing on ebay. Worked wonderfully.
