Ebay tickets

TJKraz.. Are you sure? I think that black is definitely my color.. I would just accessorize more. Perhaps a pink scarf would brighten up Sandra Day O'Connor, and Clarence Thomas looks FABULOUS in blue! I could perk up the court!

p.s. Perhaps the OP is like me in an argument. Gotta get the last word in! Just ask my hubby. He hasn't had a last word since 1996. :o

First of all--Mscott have a wonderful trip. Secondly well stated posts.
The the Op wants to sell the ticket, then sell it--good luck. If OP wants to keep ticket that would be a great option also.
If the tickets had someones name on it then there is a chance of getting it taken away. Tickets with no names--there is NO way to know who the original user was. Even if they wanted to investigate where the ticket was bought and by what cc many families use ones cc with one name to buy several tickets. HWne we purchase its in groups of 5 tickets at a time--all on same cc with only 1 name. Does that mean all 5 tickets are mine??
OP--Good luck with selling or keeping your tickets.

On many threads like this, the topic never gets addressed because it immediately sparks mudslinging! And as much as I love these boards, it irks me that they are full of holier-than-thou posters who jump at the chance to point out other's mistakes, whether they be moral, ethical, or even grammatical slip-ups.

Precisely why I started this thread on the debate board - Is the "holier than thou" attitude getting out of hand on these boards?

I HATE the fact that almost any question ever asked on these boards always develops into a gargantuan debate.
Almost every question??? Come now... Me thinks thou dost protest too much. You can count on your fingers the number of topics that are likey to have "issues" on the parks/resorts boards. Over 90% of the replies on this thread have been factual and devoid of anything remotely "holier than thou".

Just a little note for those who are unhappy about these scams being offered on ebay. You can report these auctions and they will be pulled. Here's Disney's VeRO page.

http://members.ebay.com/aboutme/disneyvero/

Unfortunately, VeRO only covers merchandise, not tickets.
Ebay community members are pretty saavy when it comes to self-policing. Check out this discussion on the SafeHarbor board:

http://forums.ebay.com/db2/thread.jsp?forum=107&thread=203626&message=5213364

Here is what ebay has to say about reporting auctions:

How do I report a potentially illegal, infringing or fraudulent item?
If you feel that an item is listed in the wrong category, or that an item is potentially prohibited, questionable, infringing, or fraudulent, the best thing to do is report the item number to eBay. Go to this page and click on "report" at the bottom. The more people report, the more likely it is that they will pull these auctions, and fewer people will be scammed. Reporting, for example, that there is no such thing as a one-day hopper, *should* get the auction pulled.

http://pages.ebay.com/help/policies/contracts.html

They really do take a lot of reported items seriously and cancel auctions.

I hate to see buyers get scammed.

I can not understand why the OP just doesn't buy the 4 day PH. The OP posted as though there would eventually be another trip to WDW but did not want to keep the extra day on the PH because she was sure she would lose it?!?! Not very logical:rolleyes:

Because we live in a free world we can debate the issues on these boards. I think its brilliant to read other peoples views whether they agree with me or not.

I know that some debates on these boards can get very full of holier-than-thou attitude (do you pull your kids out of school for a WDW trip?) but on this particular issue, I am open to the fact that some people have serious ethical issues with this.

Assuming we're not talking about scamming anyone, or even agreeing to accept more money than the ticket is worth, there is still a legitimate argument to be made that violating a company policy is wrong. And unlike bringing food into the parks (which gets around Disney charging highway robbery prices) reselling tickets on eBay actually takes advantage of the discounting of multi-day tickets. I personally don't think it's that big of a deal to resell tickets, but I respect the opinions of those that do and I respect their right to say so.

What I don't like is when people take their opinion of the ethics of reselling tickets and turn it into horror stories about how very likely you are to get ripped off, or tossed out on your butt by Disney, or otherwise cause your children to cry. People coming here looking for advice on something that's not illegal should be able to get honest advice about the risks, pros, cons, and other alternatives SEPARATE from the lectures.

I was agreeing with you until you got to that point. It does happen where people are turned away at the gates. It has been shown on TV. Why do you have a problem with that?

The purpose of this board is to share information. Maybe there are still people out there that think Disney wouldn't do anything or that all these tickets are good. By sharing stories we are showing that there is a risk by buying tickets off Ebay. After hearing the information it is up to the buyer whether or not they want to take the risk.

I would agree with the statement that sharing stories helps point out the risks involved, except that these are not firsthand accounts. Listing every story you've ever heard on the news or from someone else seems to go beyond sharing to help others and goes into that area of demeaning the OP for her question. She did after all direct the question to anyone who has bought tickets, not everyone on the boards to tell her how immoral she is.

Speaking for myself, I didn't say it was immoral. I was relating my experience of the stories I have seen on TV. Am I supposed to keep that information to myself? Isn't this a board for sharing our experiences and other information? This isn't any different than when someone asks how were the crowds when you were there.

I wasn't demeaning anyone. So according to your theory when people ask a question we should just always agree with what they ask or want to do?

Please quit trying to read the minds of those of us that posted in this thread.

The OP is free to do whatever she feels she can live with as far as the tickets are concerned. I posted what I have seen on the TV to help those that felt this might be a good way to save some money on tickets to WDW. I sure wouldn't want to dissapoint my kids by not being able to get into the parks because the tickets weren't legitimate or didn't have any days left. That is why so many people come to these boards to get educated about all things Disney before their trips. Should we keep the blinders on for everyone planning a trip?

So, here is the technical answer to the original question:

WDW admission media is nontransferrable.

If you have a partially used hopper pass and choose to sell it on EBAY or anywhere else, that is your decision. You are aware of the legalities of the situation.

This is no longer a helpful trip planning thread so I am going to close it now.
