Ebay shipping?

I bought 33 pins from a seller- paid on a Monday- the pins weren't shipped till very late the next Sunday- is this a normal period of time- I just wanted to know so I will know when I leave feedback- thanks, Jen

Be careful leaving bad feedback on E-bay. A lot of sellers will give you back a negative if they get one.

I think if you paid by Paypal, paypal gives the sellers 7 days to ship.

Thanks- just wondering if this was the norm- seemed like a long time to me but I have only made two other purchases and they shipped the next day- Jen

Many sellers will say in the auction how quickly they ship after you pay. 3 business days, 5 business days, only on Fridays, whatever. If no shipping time was listed and you felt it was unreasonable you can always give fewer "stars" on that feedback section. Sellers can't see how many stars you give in the different areas and they can't retaliate.

Also it may depend on how you paid for the auction. If you paid for it with a personal check the seller will most of the time wait a certain number of days for your check to clear before shipping. If you paid for it with a money order they will still wait until they receive your payment. So I week may not be unreasonable.

Even with paypal, it can take longer for the payment to reach the seller. Most of the paypal payment options are virtually instant. But there is 1 option, of course I can't remember the name, where it takes 5-7 days for the payment to clear.

What were the shipping stipulations the seller wrote on the item. If they said shipping within 5-7 days then they are okay. If they said shipping within48 hours, you got a problem.

The person selling the pins may have gotten sick or had a family emergency and was unable to ship sooner. That's something else to keep in mind when looking at shipping times.

I ship stuff out for DH all the time and once got the flu so bad I couldn't get to the post office for a week. I was very thankful that folks didn't complain about the shipping times since he usually ships within 3 days.
