ebay sellers-please explain the difference BETWEEN pay pals personal and premier

I must be numb. BUt the more I read about personal and premier Pay pal accounts the more confused I get.

If I want to accept charge cards, including debit cards, then I must open a premier account?

If I don't do this then I must accept personal checks and mo only directly from the buyers?

Can I receive money directly from a buyer with a personal account at all?

With a PayPal personal account you can accept payments from anyone with an email address who is not paying with a credit card. The money is electronically transferred from their linked bank account to yours either as a simple transfer or as an electronic check (echeck).

A premier account allows you to accept credit cards and debit cards, for a fee of 2.9% of the "sale" amount plus 30-cents per transaction.

The main difference is being able to accept credit cards/debit cards.

With a personal account you can only accept payments direct from someones account or echecks.

With a Premier account you can accept all payments but all payments are charged a fee.

I resisted a LONG LONG time into upgrading my account to a permier but finally did so and am glad I did. It is so much easier to get payments and not have to worry about people paying with credit cards and having to deny them etc.
