Ebay question

So I know there is a lot of ebay experts out there and I am hoping you can help me. I am new to selling and have only sold about 30 things so far. I sold something on 11/17 to a person with 0 feedback. After the sale I sent an invoice. On 11/21 I sent a follow-up because in my auction I state that buyer must contact me within 2 days to arrange payment. This person responded the next day that they are new and apologized and will send a money order . On 11/29 they emailed me that they sent a money order and it was returned to them and asked if they could pay with a credit card. I responded that I don't accept credit cards except thrpough Paypal and told her how to set up a paypal account. I also gave her my mailing address and a PO Box address if she was not able to set up Paypal. She was nice about it and apologized for being new at ebay. I told her everyone needs to learn at some time. I have not heard from her since. I sent another email to her on 12/7 and have not had a response back.

So how long do I wait before I just give up? This was a very cheap item and I am not going to relist anything else for now so it's not like I need to sell the item. She did put that payment was sent for the item but I have not received anything and based on her ignoring my emails I feel like she has no clue what she is doing and just gave up. I did tell her that if she is no longer interested in the item to let me know so I can relist it. Do I email her and tell her the deal is done and to forget about it? I guess I need to know how to close this with her the right way. So any help would be appreciated. Thanks. :flower:

I would say that now is the time to follow up with eBay for non-paying bidder. They will send the first warning. Then you will be able to get your fees back.

Also, you might want to see what feedback this person now has received from any others.

Thanks. I wasn't sure how the non-paying bidder thing worked. I looked and they still have 0 feedback and just registered in October so they are really new. I filed the non-paying bidder and will see what happens. Anyone know what will happen if they say they sent payment? She said she did and marked it on ebay that payment was shipped but then said it was returned which I find odd since I had received money orders in the past. I actually had another person say their money order was returned as well and then turned right around and paid with paypal. So I'm not sure if this a common excuse that is used. I checked my address and it is all correct and received other payments through the mail. Is this a commom excuse that is used or is it possible the money orders really are being returned? I'm not too worried about getting my fee back I just want to end this. I don't want her to send me payment a month from now and then expect me to mail it out. Or if I do decide to relist some itmes i will include it, although I went to the Post office today and think I will wait until after the holidays. It was a madhouse there.
