Ebay Question

I have been reading the posts on this board on ebay selling. Is it really lucrative? I know I SPEND a ton on ebay. Gosh, it's additive!! Is selling additive as well. I always toss my old clothes and my dd's clothes in a bag and dump them in one of those used clothing bins! Why not make some money, huh?

well it depends on what you sell............
I have been selling on ebay for a couple of years and we do "ok" but by the time you pay listing, final value and paypal fees your profit is greatly reduced.( plus if the IRS starts taking their share too??
I sold newborn diapers ( pampers) for a while and did great for a month ~ then nothing....??
My DH sells high ticket items that we get for a bargin from Bass Pro outlet. he does well with most of them ~ but spend a lot of time researching what is selling well
I have never sold clothes before so I cant help you there.
mainly you just have to decide what you will be happy with ~ to me selling something and only making $5-10 is not really worth the trouble.( I know it adds up but the time is a factor too with 2 small kids). We like to make a bigger profit
it is VERY addictive though~ I cant stop looking to see if I have bids LOL

It's not that the IRS will START taking it's share. eBay income was always considered taxable income, but most people didn't report it as such. There's already a whole thread on this board discussing it. It's especially "noticeable" if items are being purchased specifically for resale on eBay at a profit. This makes your eBay "hobby" take on more of a "business" feel. Your best bet is to discuss your individual situation with a tax professional. Better to get things straightened out uop front than to face IRS audit and penalties!

Selling Addicting, No! Never! Admiting you have a problem is the first step and well I am not willing to admit it

My wife starting selling in January and she is making some extra money. I myself am constantly looking around the house for items I am not using anymore to sell and get out of the house. One persons junk is another persons treasure, for sure!

Now whats really addicting is watching your Feedback rating increase and increase... I will admit that
