I posted a question a few weeks ago asking for advice because I has a person who wanted to return some shoes that she bought. I never heard back from her so I just assumed that she was going to keep them. Well a few minutes ago she said that she is going to mail them back tomorrow.

Here is my question. She bought these shoes on June 25th. She paid for them on July 5th. She said she got them on the 10th. She says she is still within her 14 days. Is this right? I have been dealing with her for a month. What should I do here?

I do some ebay, not too much. I would probably take them back. I would rather this then get bad reviews - even though you would not deserve bad reviews.

If she didn't get them until the 10th, and you allow returns within 14 days, then she is within the time frame to return them.

All she has to do is file a claim with Paypal for "item not as described" or whatever they call it and Paypal will make you take them back and refund her. So it's best to do it willingly and not get bad feedback.

I just told her to return them. She has been a pain since before she bought them. That's what I get for trying to work with someone. :furious:

I guess I'm out those fees too right? I wouldn't have been near as mad if she would have returned them faster.

What is her reason for wanting to return them? I mean, if they don't fit or she doesn't like the style, well too bad for her. If there is something legitimately wrong (broken strap, etc) then yes I would accept the return. But if she just wants to return them for a 'lame' reason then personally I wouldn't accept them. Or at the very least I would NOT refund her the entire amount, just the amount she actually paid but NOT shipping.

This is also the reason I don't allow returns on anything I sell on ebay - doesn't seem to slow down my sales as I've sold over 100 items (not that I'm a power seller or anything LOL!! I just list a few things a month).

The shoes were red and black Nikes and she thought that they were pink and black. For some reason in my description I thought i said red and black but it said black. Some people on that board said that they looked pink and black so i was going to refund her. Plus I was told to return them anyway or she would give me bad feed back. :rolleyes2

I didn't choose the option to let her return them, but she could use the ebay protection plan to return them. It said 14 days from when you RECEIVE the item. She waited until the very last day. My guess is she has done this before. :worried:

Have y'all seen the latest scam where when you purchase something they mail you an empty envelope with a tracking number on it and ebay backs up the seller? :faint: I read about this on the board there. I hope she does not pull something like that.

I'm telling you, this has been testing my nerves lately. I have sold the same smart phone three times now and no one has paid for it yet!! I have re listed it again today!! :rolleyes2

What kinds of things are you selling? I have just sold all of our old cell phones and some iPods and such. A few video games the kids never play and these stinking shoes!! They really don't stink, they are new! :lmao:

For these reasons I quit selling on Ebay myself. Sellers have no flexibility for giving buyers negative feedback. Fee's can be costly. Especially after the sale and then they want to return an item. I would just let her return them and move on.

Yup. :thumbsup2

It's not like you're Zappos or something. Who, by the way, has a lovely banner ad just above this "Reply to Thread" box. :lmao:

If you've sold them 3 times you know about how much it will go for.

Just list it as a fixed price with immediate payment required and be done with it.

She mailed them today. I'm about finished with ebay myself. I sold a few wii games yesterday and those funds will not be available until after Aug 5th. It's crazy!

I did list it again but how do you do immediate payment?

You get your fees back. Just file for them as a cancelled transaction. You are responsible to the original shipping NOT the return shipping. I just received something that is nothing like the item I purchased and I am out the return shipping :sad2: This is per Ebay not the seller.

I have been on Ebay for over 10 years and selling is not what it used to be but I stick with it. I get more for our stuff than doing a yard sale.

To have immediate payment just do a fixed price listing or Buy It Now and in the payment method you will see the option for it.

Don't they release funds quicker if your tracking shows delivered though?

When creating a listing, use the fixed price format not auction. Under your electronic payment methods, there's a box you can check off for immediate payment required.

I always pay for tracking on everything just in case. I guess it's because I am new, but I do have a 100% feedback though.

Okay, thank you. I have not noticed that about the payment thing. I will check the next time that I list something. Thanks for your help!! :-)

Mostly kids stuff they have outgrown (like clothes, shoes, small, lightweight toys) and also some of my own clothing. Like a couple of months ago I bought a couple of bras online but didn't really like how they fit. So one of them I kept the tags on and sold on ebay (because I couldn't return to the store I bought it from) and made almost all of my money back. I've also sold a few handbags that I no longer use (I'm a big of a handbag junkie and my husband gets tired of seeing so many in our closet LOL).

That sounds great! My mother actually cleaned out her closet and gave me a few things to sell. I need to clean mine out too. I actually listed some old silver coins tonight and I hope they sell for what ones like them are selling for. I'm going to have a yard sale in Sept or early Oct too. I'm trying to help fund our Disney trip.

So far I have sold over $700 worth, minus the $80. shoes I have to refund. that's pretty good for just items laying around the house. :thumbsup2 My kids get nervous now when I start looking around their room! :lmao:
